Is it just me or is the selection of mp3 players kind of crappy in America. I was very surprised at the limited number of mp3 players (both flash and hard drive). Go to
http://www.bestbuy.ca and you'll see the selection is much broader than on
http://www.bestbuy.com.
If you don't want video...I'd say the iRiver H10 (5/6/20 GB) are a good choice. They come in grey/white/blue/red (sexiest). They come with protective case, AC adapter that plugs into the outlet (unlike Apple where you need to pay extra). It comes with voice recorder, FM, photo viewer, text viewer...I say MUCH better than the iPod Nano.
One problem is that the battery life is not as great. You can probably get about 6- - 7 hours on 192 kbps songs and with LCD shut off. On the positive side, the battery is detachable and replaceable.
If you want video...then your best bet would be the iPod. The Samsung has only 512 mb. Honestly, no matter how much you can compress...that's very limited space for a video player. You can also wait a little bit longer to gether more money and maybe the iPod may be on sale (highly doubtful)
