Some I don't get and some are pretty useless :P

- We in europe don't need frequent gas stations our cars do not have 7.3ltr V8s that use more gas in a mile then a container ship in 24 hours

- I really would not know about the accident rate on both roads, I find the roads in germany pretty relaxed and not dangerous of any kind, I personally find the US roads, busy and completely unlogical with its keep your lane system wich also makes it unpredicteble.

- I don't get the 1/3 size thing... in general the european highways are 2 or 3 lanes only a few times they are bigger but they in general don't have to be bigger on a 3 lane highway the slow vehicles like trucks(lorries) use the right lane people without a hurry (100Km/h orso) use the middle lane and anything faster uses the left lane. and slower people shift a lane if a faster car comes. (goes mainly for germany other countries have a max speed on Highways. and the UK has it the other way around  )

I would almost agree. Having driven in europe and living in the US. I ran into far fewer accidents in Europe (With the exception of Italy... which was about 1 evry hour or so... Wow :) )

I believe he was talking the thickness of the asphalt/concrete under the road. I watched a show on the discover channel that mentioned (And I am paraphrasing the stats as I did not commit them to memory) That there is about 8-11 inches of concrete under 2-3 inches of Tar on the autobhan. Were in the US.... you would be luck to get 2 inches of concrete under 1 inch of tar. Additionally I believe that in the sections of the autobahn that are unlimited speed it is only aloud to change very little elevation per some determined distance. (I think it was something like less than 5' elevation change over the course of a mile... or something like that. but I can only imagine that my numbers are off)

But, what a lot of people who have never driven in europe dont know... is that not all sections of the autobahn are unlimited speed-limits. Many are regulated. People here in the us (For the most part) just assume the whole thing is 200+mph all the time.

Well I wasn't driving, just a passenger. And yes we won, but I don't know how because the other car looked a lot faster than our one. It was a nissan-something and we were in a VX commodore with five people.

Lately my need for extreme speed has been fulfilled by the very satisfying feeling of racing along in a Manta and crushing and chopping up your opponents under the spining blades of the craft.

Our highways are limited to 100km/h, although it's barely enforced (almost everyone drives at 120, I recently drove to and from Toronto (about 400km one way) at 130 most of the way).

WTF

those speed limits crack me up. I bet Finnish roads are a lot better and safer than those in Spain. My father tells me how he used to drive @ 180kph on the German highways 8) a very common thing btw... But here people drive only at 130-140 as much. Well my father went @ 190 once :P it was exciting. Pure adrenaline!

My mom drove us to our vacation destination with speeds up to 190 as wll there, you don't really feel that you're going that fast, it's actually really relaxing. Maybe because I don't like to go slow?

Try some hard rock/metal stuff. That really gets you worked up for speed. I only use my music for game though.
