I wouldn't say the cars feel like floating..... :?

The Lamborghini is hard to turn when going full speed also the Saleen S7 is hard to drive but unless thats just me but when fully tuned to level 3 it reaches 414 mph and stuff its hard

Let me just put it this way if i had to choose a number between 1 and 10 and 10 is excellent and 1 is bad i think i would say 8/10 coz not all the cars handle the same each one has a fairly good or bad handling so yeah :)

Dont you have to pay? I know you do for D2Drive, but just for a user?

I'm also downloading the Open Beta but at 3 GB...it will take a while...at least about 6 hours. Now I just have to pray my Internet connection won't disconnect during this time...

EDIT: I just found a torrent of the file which will be safer to download...

Have already grabbed the beta (I used my old prepaid CC to subscribe, didn't even know I still had some money on it), and my feelings are positive in general. I haven't gotten to play more than 4 hours in total due to my tight studying schedule, but the graphics are really nice (playing on 1024x768 with 2xAA), the sound effects are pretty nice although I'm no car expert and the whole singleplayer/multiplayer mix is working quite well. You can drive around and do your thing, and if you feel like it you drive up to one of the players online in your vicinity and challenge him instantly to a race to the other end of the island. That is if you both have half an hour to waste...!

My only complaint is that the Interior view always makes me feel I'm going slower than what the speedometer says, while the Front Bumper cam has a much better sense of speed. I'm suspecting it's a framerate issue, but I'll have to check it with FRAPS.
I don't use pwned. I use BSODed. It's less cool and harder to say. I know.

I played it for a few hours and what can I say...since it's a beta, I can't complain too much but the game needs to be more optimized in terms of hardware requirements. I mean, let's face it, the graphics are too spectacular. They are good but at this point, it requires too much.

The game plays fairly well. It seems to lag indoors while outdoors is smooth (except for the occasional stuttering, similar to that from Most Wanted but more noticeable).

I couldn't play online because the damn game couldn't connect to the server but I have played one offline race which was alright. Good racing, more realistic handling. It really makes you concentrate on the handling of the car.

I played the game at a resolution of 1024x768 with no anti-aliasing, no HDR and medium detail level.

I did a test with Fraps only to realize I was getting only about mid-20s for fps. No wonder the game felt slow but there was no actual lag.

I turned it down to 800x600, no anti-aliasing, no HDR, and low detail (the detail of the car is not affected). With the front view (which doesn't show any part of the car), I'm getting anywhere from low 30s to high 40s and even low 50s in some areas.

I didn't expect a lot from the Beta version but I actually received more than I expected. There are no bugs or crashes which is amazing from the Beta version but like I've said, the game needs to be more optimized because I believe it can run much smoother on my system, even if it may not be on the highest settings. Also, the stuttering is still there and usually, especially when going really fast, from time to time, the fps drops to low 20s for a split second and then goes up to normal.

My system is:
- Intel 3.0 Ghz with HT
- 1 GB RAM
- BFG 6600GT OC

I would post some pictures but apparently I'm not allowed, even though it's an open public beta.

EDIT: Also, where is everyone online? I can play single player races but there is like nobody else on the map.

Graphics.. You never can have enough. I run TDU at 1280x1024, 4x AA and high details on my stock 7900GTO, which isn't even considered to be high-end anymore.

HDR off obviously, since nVidia cards didn't support HDR + AA until the 8-series came.

and you preferred AA over HDR although you are running the game at 1280x1024 ?
