Nothing except that the PC version probably wont be getting any DLP. (Download packages: cars)korge wrote:One question because Im too lazy to search 19 pages.
What is defferent from the 360 version and the upcoming PC version?
No.Darth Meatloaf wrote:as I said before are we alowed to share keys?
Edit: The open beta will end on February 4th.

Well I finally got it to work. Don't ask how...
REALLY FUN! But it's funny that my card supports HDR in Half-Life 2 but not in this. The screen goes black, only the menu shows up...
20-30 fps with 1280x1024 4xAA High Quality (No HDR)
27-60 fps with 1280x1024 2xAA High Quality
Specs: GeForce 7900GS overclocked
Athlon 64 4000
2GB DDR400 RAM
WinXP Pro
The game has amazing graphics. In the start the guy never talks though... (Or does he ever talk at all? I just started)

so they released more keys then? why end the beta a couple of days after they ran out of em?Skyline_man wrote:Nothing except that the PC version probably wont be getting any DLP. (Download packages: cars)korge wrote:One question because Im too lazy to search 19 pages.

With meh FAULTY key I can't play Multiplayer anyways.
Only offline. I don't feel like paying anyone $5 a month just so I can try out MP on TDU...
BTW I just got a F340.
AND I noticed a bug.
The car delivery missions say if you screw up you won't be able to do it again. Well I went to Pause and clicked Restart and it worked.
I don't know if they meant that if you completely lose the wage, but still cool.

It says "if you succeeded the mission, you wont be able to restart", you can restart while playing it or just fail the mission if you wanna re-play it.Stereo wrote:BTW I just got a F340.AND I noticed a bug.

Second choice.prince1142003 wrote:Just curious, does TDU have a day/night cycle, or is just daytime with weather patterns?
DLP or download packages are free cars bundles of cars that you can download every month for the game, its only for the X360 and it seems it will be exclusive for it only.prince1142003 wrote:BTW, what do you mean that there won't be download packages for the PC?

Been playing the open beta of TDU (finally managed to find a key, which some kind soul on BitTorrent shared for everyone's benefit!), and I've got to say, I'm a little disappointed so far.
I know my PC is no longer cutting edge, but driving at 150MPH in the in-car view feels like 30MPH, until you try to corner, when the car is almost uncontrollable (never thought I'd say this, but EA's car physics are better IMHO). And so far, even though I have a GameSpy account, I can't seem to connect to the servers. And the graphics at 1024x768 4xAA are pretty blocky IMHO. Even tried 800x600 mode, performance is still as lame, and, of course, graphics are even worse.
Still, good things: they've included cars that are less common in racing games, such as Alfa Romeo GT (a car I love IRL). And the in-car view is awesome, with all the stuff you can do. Not so sure about the dressing-up part of the game, although at least I've managed to make my charcter look like me (poor bugger
!)
I know its only in Beta (trust me, EA's betas are far worse!) but I hope the final version is going to run a bit better...

Test Drive Unlimited is geared more towards simulation than EA's crappy arcade. I actually prefer TDU's car physics. Even though it's harder to handle at first, it really makes you focus on actually DRIVING and being able to handle the car...plus cockpit view!DarrenR21373 wrote:(never thought I'd say this, but EA's car physics are better IMHO).

I really like the mission where you need to take someone's cars to a certain location. There's no time limit so no rush. Just cruising Hawaii in a supercar. Speaking of cruising, the island is huge. I mean, I think it took a good 30 minutes to go from south (main area) to the north.

There are 3 shops for tuning; European specialists, British specialists, and Japanese specialists. You can find them under Key Locations/tuning shops in the map.2furio wrote:How do you tune the cars?Skyline_man wrote:driving a full tuned Koenigsegg CCS8 now..that car is damn fast.
N.B: Only specific car brands are tunable, ex: you cant tune a Ferrari.

That's a good approach Atari took, IMO.Skyline_man wrote:N.B: Only specific car brands are tunable, ex: you cant tune a Ferrari.
I learned about the open beta too late. I'll probably have to wait for the final release of the game before I get to play it. I don't mind, I've known that I wanted this game since I saw the first trailer.

Wrong dude.. :pSkyline_man wrote:There are 3 shops for tuning; European specialists, British specialists, and Japanese specialists. You can find them under Key Locations/tuning shops in the map.

You'll have to discover the tunings shops: Today's American Parts, US Muscle Tuner, European Specialist, Forza Tuner, British Parts, British Specialists, Japan Auto Parts.
Guess which one tunes Ferraris.

I only discovered 3 then.
Edit: I am a Champion now. Hardcore mode is open for me now, and its awesome, just needs a racing wheel and its perfect.

Thats because its not included in their list.DarrenR21373 wrote:Hmm, interesting that you can't tune the Lotus Esprit at the British Specialists... keeps saying I don't have a suitable car
Open Beta will end anytime today, cant wait for the final release...and yeah i backed up my saved game hoping i can use it with the final version, i already finished 48% of the game.

65% here but i dont think they will work though, many things will be changed/updated :/ (and fixed hopefully)
pretty weird how i finished all except 5 of the single player challenges, have 35 cars, got all the roads explored own 9 houses etc etc and still only at 65% (~50 hour gametime now btw
if not more O.o)
