they where not the tallest buildings

don't worry it won't be there for long... I would have advised against it cause it would go on every year like this... and I am not waiting for that....
seen enough American Patriotism to last a lifetime today

but seriuosly I can imagine people don't want to see it. and like I said it wasn't my Idea... but I am not locking it as long as it is discussed in a normal fasion

It's "were" by the way, not where. ;)

But yes, Stig is right. The Twin Towers were not the tallest buildings in the world. It was the Petronas Tower in Malaysia. That was then, but now it's changed. Not sure which building though... :P

OMG dnt you guys know about the Bionic Tower project?

It's 1,228 metters (yeah more than 1km) , an actual city with a capacity for 100,000+ inhabitants. Hotels, parks, stores, hospital, everything you need in a city!
January 1997, a full team of architects, engineers, biologists and designers join their capacities and investigations and start to develop the Prototype "Bionic Vertical Space" ideologically and physically. The result is presented at the "III International Conference IFHS", as a lecture titled "Conquest of Vertical Space in the 21st Century - International Conference on Multipurpose High-Rise Towers and Tall Buildings" organized by "The Concrete Society" in London, October, 1997. The Original Lecture is signed by the Architects Eloy Celaya, Javier G. Pioz and the Engineer Javier Manrique.
Oh I guess it's only known in Spain since it's a spanish project. Those guys are crazy but I like the idea very much, and the tower is lovely.

Speaking of the Bionic Tower in the previous posts it somewhat reminds me of something, but I'm not sure what.

I wonder what the highest elevated city in the world is tho. :? I know Denver is 5,280 feet or in other words a mile (1.62 kilometers) above sea level. That is pretty dang high wouldn't you say? I'm not going to say that it is the highest city in the world, but I'm just glad I live in the mile high city. Because I've heard from somewhere (and I'm not saying that it is pure fact either) that the higher you are the slower you age.

I just hope now that people don't start bashing me again for being stupid.

well people do say the mountain air is a lot healthier... in fact a lot of olympic athletes train in high mountanous areas, because the air pressure is lower, and i think that helps increase stamina....

BTW... YEAH!!!! England won some dead dudes ashes  and boy am I glad that the test series is over at last... I'm sure my puberty years wasn't as long as the cricket games

I've never understood the cricket game... You win by inns, 300 runs, 10 wickets... Any easy explanation on this? :P

I'd rather see England win again. Although I never watched it. Cricket is that weird version of baseball where you have a flat bat and swing up right?

Cricket is nothing like baseball

The bowler bowls the ball from one end of the pitch (with a straight arm) and the batter hits it anywhere around the ground, without getting caught out or missing the ball and letting it hit the stumps (which will also make you out). When you hit the ball, you run between the two ends of the pitch to score runs. The fielders on the ground will try to get the ball and throw it at the stumps before you get there. Hitting the ball past the boundary will score 4 runs, and hitting it over the boundary will score 6 runs. At the end, the team with the most runs wins.

And to answer your question Morty:
- Winning by 300 runs sort of explains itself.
- Winning by 10 wickets would mean that the winning team still had 10 batters left when they won the game. In other words they won by a lot.

Meaning the other team was in great shape while the losing team was out of shape. Kinda like Skyview soccer team. We lost 7 to nothing on an away game.

Baseball isn't that easy. If you play for a club or something, you'll learn that there is a lot of strategy and stuff as well as remembering signals from the coach.

Let alone trying to hit the ball and make it to first base . . .
