Where did you get that 256mb for that price? I searched almost everything in holland, and my 128 was still 240euro!

I think you (everybody) should go for a card that you can use for a while, even when this means you pay almost double, cause if you buy a card that just fits the specs (on max settings) you will have a card that is not running on max possible settings on never games in a while.
I know that a card like I have (ASUS- ATI 9800 XT set on it is a HUGE amouth of money! (was 500 euro =600 USD)
so that's not a option for most.
but buying a new one almost every 1, 2 years isn't a good option also.
I don't know anything about any Nvidea card (I only got a Nforce onboard soundcard so dunno about video.
but as for ATI I would go for a 9800 Pro wich is a lot better then the 9600XT/pro
A lot of cards can have max settings in games like nfs but that does not make it a good card. there is more to that.
little advise from LeStig

Stig, I need a card under $100. But I also need a card better than The one I have. I just want a card that fits Underground 2.
EDIT: No offense or anything, just tellin ya that I need somethin good and cheap.

I just got a mail by my uncle that those cards are already for sale in japan and china. I didn't believed him but i checked on my fav site tweakers and they confirmed it so he's bringing me this little gift next week. Damm i love my uncle but to let you guys know it's good here are some test resultsDrewb99 wrote:The 9800s are being dumped in favor of the new fancy pants x800s, if you're in the market for a new ATI card that'l be the way to go in the future. I'm sure a 512mb version's in the works, but weather it's going to be regular AGP or PCIE is anyone's guess.

I am trying to overclock my video card with this guide http://members.optushome.com.au/trev99/oc_guide.htm
but when I get to this part
and I try to click on the Additional Properties button, it's greyed out, as in I can't click it. Any suggestions?

Their performance is about equal..

Edit: But I don't know which one I should take if I really would buy one.. I'm a GeForce fan, but the X800 XT is running faster at alot of games.
You can easily overclock the 6800, but that's another story.
