How do you know that he didn't get the engine swapped? Or added a turbo. I'm sure he wouldn't register those changes with insurance companies. Since when is a license plate on the car tracks down the specs of your car?
Also, in USA Golf III comes with 2.0L 115hp stock (lowest model).
REASONS....

1 WE are not in the US of A
2 Here in The Netherlands swapping engines is no concern to the Insurance.
3 You have to have a shiznit of cash here to get it swapped of even a turbo fitted... can be done but a lot of legal stuff.
4 Our country is filled with damn Ricers who seen to much F&F movies.
5 Here in the Netherlands a LICENCEPLATE contains info about the car (stock that is) but knowing that most people don't fit any serious parts here you can asume it is just THAT.
6 We have more versions of the Golf here then in the US 1.4 1.6 1.8
and most ricers use the cheapest versions.... you can't see the difirence (unless you are really upto date on Volkswagens).

simple eh?

Ricers have GTI stickers. Engine swappers don't do GTI. :P

Here in the netherlands people only put on front/back bumper sideskirts spoiler hood rimms color exhaust and some power filters and a bigger intercooler. Because if we do more the f*cking cops are swingin with tickets like there is no tomorrow.

not if you do it propperly.. you can add more... but you have to follow the rules... in terms of noise and emission etc.. if it is done by a official company and if it is examined by the RDW (offical car examin institute in th Netherlands) it can be done... but is is expensive.

I see, thanks. The car does look ricey though... me personally, I go performance first, then looks. I'd rather have a super machine with stock looks (sleeper) than a super stylish car with no performance.

I never plan to street race, and I dont encourage it either, but I know that Ill do it in future, just to put the Supra badge in someones face. I hate people who sit and rev at me at the lights, especially BMW Z3s, and Audi TTs

Germany is also really shiznit if u want to tune your car, here is everything forbidden, spinning rims, aluspoilers, neons and many other things
And u don't want to increase the performance anymore, if u look at the petrolprices

You heard wright you can only upgrade your coolingsystem like bigger intercooler and stuff and you rimms and exhaust tip as long if you don't get over the normal DeciBel level by the law of belgium

almost every type of lights are forbidden, offcourse not head- and rearlights :)

but i think optical they can do whatever they want, because in tuningmagazines ( AUTOTUNING, POWERTUNING etc....) there're almost all cars from Belgium, and u right all of them have stock performance.

the dutch are worse... they can get visual and performance.... but what do they do... RICE their CRX and Golf up witha big exhaust that is even bigger then my chimney...

btw don't really agree that my southern Neighbours are the best stylers...
can't say I like most of it...
I rather like Japan in that way...and the classic German styling ain't bad IMO... but I rather have a car that performs then a car that has a PS-2 and 25 speakers and subwoofers... etc

I was cleaning my HDD (tons of pics) and then found that. That is what I saw on the street months ago. In the plate number you see "VA" (Valladolid) It is the riciest thing I have seen in my city.
BTW I suck making photos sorry

That is not 'styling', see the hood. He pretends to be considered a professional racer with a riced Renault Scenic. ROFL

M8, ricing doesn't depend on the parts you use.

Some people just put it on because it looks good..

i think some of the best street cars are ones tht are d badged because then u never know wht there running under the hood which is more fun i think when ur racing coz u never know how the other
car will perform.
