Have you tried a different hub? Sounds like a broken hub to me...

Nope, I got this hub for free and I'd have to buy one since I don't have another laying around.

Ok I've got a problem with my connection, as I'm writing this, my upload rate is growing way too fast, and I'm not uploading anything, just watching this thread.

So I scanned with Spybot, didn't find anything, AdAware found 6 thingies, didn't fix this, stinger didn't find anything, NOD32 found one thingie, didn't fix this.

Before this happened when I had LimeWire active, and it shared some files I guess, but I don't even have it installed now...

Thanks for your help

edit:

What's this svchost.exe process? I can't deactivate it now because the trial period of my netlimiter just ended -.-

It varies between 5 and 17 kbps

edit: ok I managed to block the process with my firewall, but I'd like that thing out of my computer(if it's hostile? ).. I can' t remove it manually because it gives the error message "Can't delete file because it may be in use"

svchost.exe is a Microsoft DLL library that is prone to backdoor trojans and other nasty things. An infection of this DLL library is tricky to remove because the library is one of the essential cores of the Windows OS. Without the file, the system won't load.

svchost provides the environment to run the Windows services which essentially are Windows. To see if your svchost is running any fishy services, type in tasklist /svc into a command prompt window.

Check your batteries. Then check your reciever. Then check for anything that could be interfering with the signal.

ok, quick question...

after installing my new C2D E6300 i took a look at everest and i noticed the cpu multiplier keeps switching between 6x and 7x :?

this is a difference of ~ 200mhz... no idea whats causing it, i have already tried looking for certain settings in the bios.. no use atm

Mobo: Asus P5B
bios: latest

thanks for any help

It's probably like AMD's 'Cool and Quiet' feature, just a guess have no idea why else it'd be doing it for...

At least it isn't as drastic as what even my old 3400+ does (2199MHz down to 750-780MHz :P)

It probably is the AMD K8 "Cool and Quiet." On my now fried ASUS motherboard, my processor frequency would jump from 200 Mhz to 2000 Mhz, so a jump of just 200 Mhz is nothing.

It's a feature implemented into newer processors to reduce power consumption and heat output when you're not using the processor to its full capacity. There should be some power saving option in BIOS to turn it off.

No it would not work, PCIe is faster than normal PCI and putting a slow card like that into a slot thats meant to use faster cards may cause some problems.

Are they even the same slot size? AFAIK, the PCI-E slot is longer and thinner.

Yeah I don't think you can fit a PCI-E card in a PCI slot :).
Or the other way around.

You should have bought a motherboard with plenty of PCI slots.

Check to make sure your in range of your receiver. It sounds to me like your just in rance and go out sometimes when you boot. I have an EX100 an dit used to do that sometimes. :D

EDIT: By the way, your most likely not going to find any TV-tuner that can use PCI-E for the sheer fact that tv-tuners dont need that much power and speed like PCI-E Compliant Devices.

@S2000_Skyline12: Just buy a USB tuner card if you have some USB spots open.
