Well, look on the bright side... There's been a lot of posts about servers being down on the Atari forum the last few days, so you might have avoided a bit of frustration there...Pabl0z wrote:Bah. Still didn't get my copy today even though I got a message on friday saying it's been sent.
Would've had all day to play...
Hopefully tomorrow!

The single most frustrating thing about it is when you're in game and the message suddenly comes up about being disconnected from the server - you then get kicked out to the main menu. Is it beyond Atari's wit to make it that you play offline when you get disconnected until you can reconnect seemlessly? The other day I was disconnected, then I was told that I couldn't reconnect as someone was already logged in with my account! I know that Atari - it was me FFSMorty wrote:Well, look on the bright side... Happened to me too. Except that I was ~40 mins into the Millionaires' Challenge.DarrenR21373 wrote:The single most frustrating thing about it is when you're in game and the message suddenly comes up about being disconnected from the server - you then get kicked out to the main menu. Does that work even with an online profile? I thought you wouldn't be able to play without a connection? Have to try it out (the lag is killing me when another player car appears, anyway - I tend to crash when the game pauses loading an online player's car )

HAHA a 2CV! Oh yeah that would so pwn a Saleen S7 off the line!DarrenR21373 wrote:Sorry - just trying to be helpful in response to Porsche AG's post![]()
Back on topic:
Was looking through the game files the other day (while applying a hack I'd read about to remove traffic in order to complete the last outstanding Speed Challenge that I just could not do even with a Saleen S7 at level 3) when I came across the attached (I think the RIM directory is player cars).
Perhaps this is the first add-on car that will be available for PC

I finally got my copy of TDU yesterday, and I'm just waiting to free up some space on my main drive so I can install it (8 GB for a game is a lot). I picked it up for only $45 CDN at Wal-Mart, so that's pretty dang good. If things go well and my dad gets around to adjusting the space ratios for the drives, I might have TDU installed for today! Can't wait to see you all online

I've been playing the playstation version of this game to death over the past few weeks. Absolutely love the online mode, though it's a real shame that there is no way to communicate to other players (either then your car horn). Yeah, I am a bit jealous that the PS2 version is very bland compared to the PC and 360 version, but that’s what happens when you don’t want to spend more money on a new system.
But personally, I think this IS what the current Need For Speed game should be like

They better come out with a patch soon. I run into tons of bugs when I do the car transport missions. I lose all sound near the end of the missions, then it comes back after I get payed. Cars bounce around somethings and damage themselves. The screen shakes like there is a crash nearby meanwhile the car crash is miles away. The list of bugs just goes on and on. But if you look past those things, it's a pretty good game. To answer your question darknight, I use an 8800GTS, the game runs very smooth on all high settings at 1680x1050. It may lag for less than a second once in a while but other than that it runs perfect.

I use a 7950GT, but I haven't done anything to the settings, so I'm still using 1024x768... Read about someone getting problems after trying new settings, so I'll wait for the patch before I do anything about it. Rumours say the patch is coming next month, I'm guessing it's 1 or 2 weeks away...
I got that sound bug a lot, but pressing pause (P button) and resume fixes it.
