Computer Help Thread
You mean absolute zero? Not even close. Absolute zero is the total lack of heat and movement of any particles, everything's dead frozen. The closest absolute zero has ever been achieved in a lab is within a single celcius degree, IIRC.
Anyway, the temperature at which nitrogen becomes a liquid is -210 through -195 C (-346 through -320 F). Absolute zero is 273.15 C (-459.67 F).

ok i got a weird question here. iwas reading some stuff and a guy did this and i want to know if this would work. say i take my stock 250 W PSU and leave it in the case. then take my 500 W PSU that should be arriving this week and use it to only power my GFX card and nothing else. so the 250 W PSU would be powering the cpu, drives, etc. , and the 500 W would be only powering the gfx card. would that work ? i know i would have to plug it in to two outlets but thats not a problem. reading what that guy did got me really interested.

Why waste the 500W on the gfx card alone? I would suggest you do it the other way around. There's no way your gfx card is going to use all 250W.
I don't see why you wouldn't be able to do it. Just fitting them into the case might be a problem. And there's always the problem of shutting down.
I don't know how the PSU gets the message to shutdown. I know mine shuts off (or at least the fan does) when the computer is shut down but there is still power running in the system. I guess the only way you'll find out is if you try.

I have alot of power comming out of my 350 Watt. I acually think I am getting more than 350 watts out of it. I don't know what I'm gonna do when my new hard drive gets here because I don't think it can power it.

ok this is starting to weewee me off. i finally got my new psu and everything seems to work fine except for one thing my brand new gfx card. it still does the same thing my old 250 W did whenever the comp tries to bring up the loading screen. i even took a video to show what is going on. i thought pny was a good brand, could my brand new card really be bad ?

the message is just asking if i want to start windows normally and i say yes and then it flashes the yellow screen and then the monitor shuts off
im pretty sure my system can handle it with a 2.0 ghz cpu, 1 gb ram, 500 W psu, and a agp version 2.0 slot. it can run a 6 series card so it should be able to run a mid range 7 series. one more thing the card is agp 8x and my agp slot supports 4x. that shouldnt be a problem since arent they backwards compatible ?

Have you replaced your motherboard recently? This symptom is classic of a motherboard reinstall.darknight788 wrote:the message is just asking if i want to start windows normally and i say yes and then it flashes the yellow screen and then the monitor shuts off![]()
If even safe mode doesn't work, you will need to reinstall Windows.

Yeah, I just looked a little bit and they are backwards compatible, but you might want to see if your mother board actually supports 8x, because if it's a 4x slot the motherboard may only be able to handle that type of card. Some motherboards are like that.darknight788 wrote:im pretty sure they are backwards compatible. arent they

i havent replaced my mobo at all. it is the same mobo i have had for 5 years. ran my 6800 which btw just blew up its fan today so im stuck with a computer that doesnt want a new gfx card and a brand new gfx card lol. @ prince your saying i should reinstall windows ? dont think that would do much since the 6800 worked fine today until the fan went to hell. @ weedman that may be a problem but the weird thing is i put it in our other comp a amd 3200 + 2.2 ghz and atleast that one realizes a card is there and it starts up and they both have AGP 2.0 slots
