The tested the brakes of the SLR in Top Gear and it could stop in the legal limit for a car that drives 60 MPH but they drove at 120 mhp (200kmh) and it stop within that distance (wich was really short for a car doing that speed!)
And the SLR is not a real merc it is basicly a McLaren with a Merc engine and some merc components, and merc luxury.
It is still a brittish build car.
ALL HAIL THE MIGHTY STIG.... that showed him...
I dont thnk james will have an argument against this...
And like the stig said... 0-60 is nothing... look up the o-100.. if your going to look for the acceleration... thats the more important one.

Like those rocket cars you always see on TV... Aha if only one of those was in the game... Just for the record, yes, I was "told" back there, and I accept that. But on the previous page, two members (no names
) were talking about acceleration, so I joined in. I'm sorry if some people took what I said as meaning the Corvette is a better car, because it isn't. But since the topic was acceleration at the time... I put my opinion in.

exotics will always be exotics..theres a reason why they are called that and theres a reason why a skyline can't kill a SLR...to be fair stock. or even if a skyline is 1000hp and dust a SLR in straight..but what GOOD isit to have 1000hp in a circuit or streeet? who would win..with skills even by the hands of a profesional driver you would never be able to use the entire 1000hp in a circuit. Common sense.

The GT is about that too because of the tires but they got it to 212 at nardo so SLR eat that. I don't see many SLR's here, havent seen one yet. Its not even a merc anyways its the british motor under a merc body. The SLR is near death, the team that worked on it got reassigned, not enough sales. One cluster of cars in a city in Australia doesn't mean they are on the rebound. The Ford GT however is a different story, alot cheaper and faster. Plus being alive and well. The SLR just has the name Mclaren on it its just an eye candy car Mercedes came up with. The Ford GT comes from race proven supremacy.TheStig wrote:The top speed of the SLR is officially limited by the tires at 207 mph.
