All parts you get are outdated the moment you buy them.. :< That's just the way it is.

Dual core processors are a great investment, try getting one.

I would need to update my motherboard if I were to get a dual core.

I don't know much about Vista but to me it just looks like eye candy to use up half your ram. I don't think i will upgrade.

Impressive, I guess you don't need much storage space though, 80+80 isn't much these days. But if one doesn't need more why get more...

The problem is...well to use my new Pc..i have to format the old hard disk or make
another partition...both of which I am not willing to do..
So the only solution was to buy another hard disk..and make it the master and the other one slave..Then I thought y not go for the SATA hard disk...and later realized
that 80Gb was the smallest SATA hard disk I could find ..

What I am really proud of is the 1GHz OC'ed core2duo processor...which is really amazing...

All this stuff was really cheap...all together it costed about 1200$...all from newegg
Shipped all the way to the UAE.

First of all lemme warn u...IF U WANNA OVERCLOCK ANYTHING ..GET A BIGGER BETTER HEAT SINK/FAN...

trust me..its from experience..otherwise ur CPU chip will sizzle like a fried egg..

Before you begin the overclocking process, determine if your motherboard can overclock processors. Look in the CPU installation section in your PC's manual. If you're lucky, you'll find either a BIOS setup menu or a set of switches or jumpers on the motherboard that controls the FSB, voltage, clock, PCI/AGP, and memory bus multipliers. The only real necessity is the FSB adjustment, but without the others, your options decline significantly.

Next check ur power supply...if it can handle the punch...again it depends on a lot of things ..like M/b , gpx card..., processor etc

Then u gotta do the bios thingy..which I really suck at..so i asked a guy at some computer shop to do it..

use this site for more info : http://www.epinions.com/cmd-review-3370 ... D81E-prod6

Also ..remember, google knows all

BTW u can get into the bios using the F8 key during the start up
or also try using F2 or del

Good luck mate..!!

Well I dunno about that...but i would suggest u remove the old heatsink/fan clean off any thermal paste if any, get a new bigger one...ADD thermal paste (very important )
And fix it back...

That should keep ur heat problems part of OC, under control

You're lucky, my problem is the exact opposite: what's the biggest available (cost effectively). Part of what I do for living involves dv-editing, so the more the merrier is the case for me.

At the moment I have160GB (for system and software including games and what not) + 160GB+200GB which are basically nothing but video storage room. And I'm constantly swapping between DVDR backups and HDD material due to lack of space.

Luckily the price of external harddrives has gone down rapidly, which is perfect for me. I don't need super fast data access; all I need is space and lots of it. So I ordered a Lacie Big Disk Extreme USB2/Firewire 600GB external drive which should keep me in business for a while.

I also saw an ad' at a shop that was ay 1000GB hard disk..but didnt ask for the price..or details...

379 euros shipped and delivered to where I live (northern Finland). Which is more then reasonable imo.

The biggest one available from Lacie is 2TB (that is, 2000GB) that is still a single enclosure usb/firewire drive; bigger than that are no longer called external hard drives. They turn into RAID-systems and SAN/NAS solutions (storage area network/network attached storage).

When the time comes, and if I remember, I might post a pic of that eventful moment ;)

My old celeron was OC'd 50mhz, i didn't wanna destroy that thing in any hurry at the time so i only did 50, made no difference what so ever, but then again i was pretty bored on that day.

Mine does a 900MHz overclock..

And that's a sick one considering it's a AMD64.

Since external hard drives are usually cheap, I buy those then take the case off of them and mount them inside. Currently I have 2 250GB hard drives, I try to keep important things on the one without the operating system so if something happens im not screwed.

Dell and others use their own designed BIOS, that's why. They disable a couple of things.
