If you were talking to me, I do tap the nitro and don't use it in first gear. But, do you tap the nitro as fast as you can or is there some good set speed to do it at? And is to "redline it" to hold your gas all the time when getting ready to go? Because I do that too and can't seem to get under the 22 mark except when I get really lucky. Please tell me.
sure here we go...
I recently got low 20's so 20.5 etc on highway:
try to get a perfect start, is dificult with keyboard but can be done. just trie to tal the gas around ther perfect shift point at the start... often get a perfect or good shift, after shifting to second gear tan nitro fast to get up your gears fast.. before you aproach the perfect shift line stop nitro and wait til Perfect and shift, and short nitro taps again, till next gear...until you reach 6th gear and around 350 KM/h (dunno if you use MPH but than around 215 MPH) and this wil be just under the redline in the SKYLINE
keep driving till you go downhill at the last part and and use the remaning nitro.... (really last moment else engine blows(to soon does not matter if you hear the engine blow sound as you finished... )
hope to be helpfull here..

Hmm, well I don't get it then - I'm pretty much already using your technique Stig - it's much easier to get the perfect launch with the PS2 controller and I adopted the N2O tap technique a while back, but still don't go below 22sec. Guess I just gotta practice...
On the speed side I do ok tho - FlamingNeon here's my tips, dunno whether i'm giving you anything new or not:
The key to max speed is drafting - you need to conserve maybe half of your N2O and work it so that another car ends up a ways ahead of you at around the 3/4 mark. At around that point, get behind him and you'll see the drafting numbers start to climb. Punch the ntirous and hold at that point and you'll end up with phenomenal speed. If you time everything just right, you'll come out of his slipstream a litle before the finish and go around him to win, just as your engine blows.
And oh, btw - like the sig. Up yours too!!
