RICER!!!!!
When you say a certain car is 'rice', has been 'riced', or is a 'ricer', it's usually because of ridiculous/gaudy body modifications with, more often than not, no performance modifications regardless of make or model.

Pretty arrogant post, especially considering my experience with vehicles absolutely towers over yours, and im part of so many world-wide car clubs Ive lost count.Sweet-16 wrote:
totally wrong. let me tell you since you clearly don't understand:
Oriental imports are the only cars called ricers. The reason this became is because the natives of Japan, Korea, Vietnam, and China eat a lot of rice in their meals. It became an american thing as far as my knowledge goes that we started calling their cars "rice burners". Then knowing how we all like to shorten things, we eventually just started calling them "ricers". So technically though not an actual brand of vehicles, it still is a 'type' of car Grez.
''Rice burners'' is actually derived from old Japanese race cars, which were run on an ingredient made largely of rice. While crude, it was a cheap equivalent of methanol, a race fuel. So, technically speaking, calling something a ricer is actually the opposite of the meaning it holds today, which is function over form.
The term ricers was then spread largely by the V8 crowd, as a derogatory statement about the ever-increasing amount of imports. However, it has since spread to mean any car which has been modified crudely, and with a lack of taste. Seeing as the car can be of any origin, its more a state of mind as to who would do it, rather than a make of vehicle. Hence, my original post.
Sorry for being off-topic, but it seems a little odd that people are laughing at the word 'rice', when they clearly dont know what it means.

I also saw somewhere that R I C E can stand for Race-Inspired Cosmetic Enhancements. Probably BS, but who gives a monkey's.
Anyway, back on topic - BBC Top Gear's "Carbage" page is one of the best sources for rice, whatever your interpretation. I just love that estate car that the guy has slapped bits of cardboard on - didn't even bother painting it. Must try and find it again.
