I did a bit of problem solving and apparently it's not the intro commercial's fault, as I waited until all of them were over and I actually got to the main menu.YaelDjiel wrote:hmm cant remember which files were used for the vids but;
you can try to rename/remove them if they are in eg: .bik format
have a look in your TDU folder
I then loaded my savegame like normal and the screen appeared at my house, and I thought that I had finally solved this problem.
But when I clicked "Exit" so that I could start driving, the game froze on the screen that appears with the "Test Drive Unlimited" logo and the "Saving... Please Wait... " bar. At first I thought that maybe my computer was a bit slow, requiring more time to save, but I waited for like 10 minutes and I eventually just gave up and found that the program had not been responding the entire time, via the task manager.
If you, or anyone else, has any idea what is going on, I would appreciate it if you could let me know.

As Porsche-AG said there realy isnt much over there just a building that looks like a hotel and a road that goes all the way around the island. But if u realy want to get there just find a way up the hill like in my pic.Ur best bet is to follow the highway around the eastern tip of the island. after u come around the big corner make ur way up the hill from there then follow the mountain range till u get to the point on the map.

No actually every thing is half rendered, and transparent. Also the background is all black.darknight788 wrote:you mean where you get alot of yellow shapes and stuff and eventually the whole screen is yellow ?
Its kinda funny to watch, but it kills my fps!!
@ GINX : Where do u modify your mclaren from??

@ PSZeta: I think he means where is Ford Island on the Test Drive map.
I did up a quick map for you so you can see approximately where the island is. See attachment.
On a sadder note, I still can't seem to get my Test Drive working but I'm going to try a couple more times today and maybe change the settings a bit and if it doesn't work I won't touch the game until Atari releases their highly anticipated patch

TDU Return
Ah yes, I have been to Ford Island. I don't have the game anymore, the last copy of the game was scratched and it wouldn't work so I had to return it :'(

@ Lan.Evo.III: Well, I've checked the minimum requirements but I wasn't quite sure about laptop video cards and their compatibility.
@ Frenzy: Yeah, that's sorta what I was doubting.
I think I'll still get the laptop, but I will keep my PC as the gaming computer. After all, $900 for a laptop with those specs is a pretty nice deal.
Another alternative is to get the laptop and purchase a better graphics card for it since the laptop allows that.

Yeah, it's possible. I drive with a keyboard, and I've spent months drifting with the Corvette Z06 and the Mustang GT500 in hardcore mode. I miss drifting races, the drifting I do on the raceway should really have given me money (in-game money at least)taz947 wrote:you can drift in Hardcore Mode without a wheel??
when I easily touch the key, the car goes off-roading.. or I might try with a gamepad, but I think itâ€s the same thing...
It'll come. It just will.YaelDjiel wrote:50 virtual bucks says it wont come at all![]()
