Thats the mustang gtr I love that car. I'll probaly make mine look like ELeanor from gone in 60 Seconds.
I don't see what the big deal is though so what some people don't like it thats not gonna make me change my mind. If ya don't like it don't drive it. I think its awsome that there adding a mustang. I don't like the fact that there adding an infinity gs35 because its the basicly the same as the 350z. But I'm not gonna get mad at some one that does like it.

After playing a year with the same car, my dear old Focus, I commited adultery with a RX7 last night. I finished underground mode with a Focus cuz I like it, kept the TJ's I choose in the game and started racing online. Short stints of 3 to 4 laps are necessary to have a somewhat competative car against the RX7 and the Miata, because a Focus just isn't a match for a RX7... But I am stubborn enough to keep racing with it cuz the top 10 drivers in a room has 90% of RX7 in it. Which kinda sucks, AND is boring.
But after I dropped from 200.000 rep to 110.000 in a half hour I thought it was time to set my stubbornness aside and give it a go and change my car for a RX7. In a couple of hours I gained over 70.000 rep... There is SO MUCH DIFFERENCEbetween the cars it is just unbelievable!!! I can tell, b/c I INTENTIONALLY NEVER tried to race another car online b/c I was afraid of what I found out yesterday.
I know the Focus drives like a brick and has the same steering behaviour, but the RX7 is not a bit faster: it is A LOT faster. I'm even afraid to use nos, b/c that thing is going too fastYes, it is harder to steer b/c you can't go over curbs when steering into a corner but after some laps I got kinda used to it. I still can't drive lots of clean laps, but if I do I am well over 3 seconds faster per lap than my Focus. Yes I clocked a 37,53 with my Focus in OS, but that was a couple of laps, all 41/42 and the last with full nos. So one of my first races with the RX7 I had a 6 lap race, pretty clean, no crashes and guess what: constant on 39... NO NOS! What if I gave it some practice
.... I even had a moment where I somehow accidently got hoocked with the 2 leftside wheels on the inside curb of the 1st corner in OS: I had an exit speed of 300 km/h through the shortcut!!! So this is my wish for NFSU2: not how many different cars orso, just MORE COMPETATIVE CARS !!!
I for one will be pretty dissapointed when in a month time the RX8 in NFSU2 turns out to be the best car, I can promise you all: forget about all the requested cars: most of us will all racing be the RX8...
BUT I SURELY HOPE I'M WRONGsry if I'm being too pessimistic
It would be pretty funny if the corolla became the most used car in the game. (It would rock for me, I dont know bout the rest of you)
If not in circuit, at least in drift.
As nightrider pointed out, it should be possible to tune ur car to compete with other cars. Of course, I have no idea if it still is realistic when a Focus orso can compete with an RX8... But anyways, we would have a more colorfull grid which is what I'm hoping for. Because, it's not funny anymore to see what the RX7 can do in NFSU1... I've been playing for 4 nights now, and I'm on 430.000 rep (!). Been losing a lot also cuz I still have a long way to go to control it 100% of the laps. I don't know if anyone recognizes this, but I didn't join a race if there were drivers that had over a million rep orso b/c I knew I was going to lose anyway. But now I don't even care, b/c chances are equal. Still is very odd to beat ppl with a rep that high, something I never could have done with my Focus. Even more if they are time-d-up... So yes, it's nice to win every now and then, but on the other hand: it sucks pretty much that it has to be done with an RX7...LancerevoVIII wrote: It would be pretty funny if the corolla became the most used car in the game. So for all I care let's bring in the Corolla to top the charts, as long as the top 10 per room pretty much drive different cars!

Yeah but the RX-7 isn't all that. The only thing that it's good for is circuit and sprint, cuz it's just insanely fast. But when it comes to drags that S2k can compete or beat it hands down. If you take two players of equal skill levels and put them in those cars with the same level of parts and same uniques the S2k can definately do it. And drifting, there's no question to me now that the Ford Focus is the absolute best car to drift with. I've been practicing Track6 alot trying to do things like, get to 1,000,000 points in 10 laps, then try for 1,500,000. And that's actually alot to shoot for! 150,000 a lap...
Anyways I've done prolly 150-200 laps on it just in quick race, that's not including the times i've drifted online, and in my other 12 profiles. Out of all the cars on all the different levels of parts I've found it to be the best car there is. Does that mean no other car can beat it? Hell no... That's my preference of car though. I try it with the RX-7 and I just kick the back end out too far and spin around in a circle, cuz it's too powerful.
I wouldn't be suprised if the corolla did become the best drift car in NFSU2, why? Because I believe it was in 2003 that a corolla won the drift championship in Japan. Course it was the late 80's model, but still.
Everyone just needs to stop making speculations about everything. In the end though, does everyone want realism or crap? Because if you take two cars, the RX-7(since everyone is making a fuss about it), and the Corolla(since everyone is interested in it), and invest the same amount of money into both cars, the RX is always gonna come out on top just because your starting out with more power, etc. I hope they go for realism, because it already looks like they are going fairly cartoonish with the game, and I've played the demo so no one can argue with me on that.

I'd like that too. One of the most things that I like about NFS is that it's neither completely arcade or sim. We already have enough arcade racers and GT is the only racing sim anyone could ever ask for. A pleasent mix would appeal to me and probably attract a larger gamut of players imo.LancerevoVIII wrote:Do I want Crap or Realism?
Hmm.......I really dont know. A little of both would be nice actually.![]()
Cheers!

Whether it won or not, they are always near the top. Although I think youre right, I remember having a video of a silver AE86GT coupe receiving the trophy.I wouldn't be suprised if the corolla did become the best drift car in NFSU2, why? *sig removed for being too big. limitations are 550x120px & 50kb*
FWDs don't even really drift, I absolutely HATE people 'drifting' Integras and Focuses by leaving it in 2nd gear and just handbraking around every turn. They need to kill the bonus zones if they still have the NFSU-style drift competitions in NFSU2, that way only people that can actually drift and not just swing between the bonus zones have the advantage.
That's the way that the game works, I didn't make it. I hit the handbrake so much when I do it that any normal car would just die. Drifting in the game is nothing like in real life, thus you can't compare it at all. Obviously the focus doesn't suck if people can win with it. And yes the way I drift is to keep it in 2nd gear and slap the handbrake, but that's the easiest way, so why the hell wouldn't I do it? If I wanted realism in the first place I wouldn't be playing NFSU... Don't try to make an unrealistic game realistic.

Actually NFSU2 in a sense offers both Crap and Realism.
Crap is that the cars are insanely tuned or the physics/handling are kinda ridiculous. (To an extent actually. Dont get me wrong, This crap is what makes this game fun)
The realism comes from their portrayl of how the underground street racing scene is. (Racing at night, Semi-Hot girls
) and if its true, the option to fine tune your parts.
In any case I have some really high hopes for this game. And from what I can tell, its not going to disappoint.

I have never seen this handbrake stuff, I had a Celica once that may have been doing it, but I was faster, but anyways, he started ramming me to stop my points (I had the RX-7, light tuned, balanced in other words) Once I passed him I could nail his score easily, though he liked to crash me out when he had the chance.
When I drift FF cars, I use the more interresting approach, a special technique called Left foot braking.
Though thats what I simulate by keeping the accelerator floored and just pumping the brake in the corners.
The RX-7 is powerful on drags too, I have a record top end speed of 389.50 KPH, it is an S2000 killer, but once I lost in a BAD way.
I was pushing my record this time, but I got a nasty bug, once I got it REALLY high into the revrange, the car autoshifted into 1st, causing MASSIVE speed loss before the finish and the S2000 passed me, while I was crawling in 90 KPH...
Well, sliding the RX-7 is a challenge actually, you got to know the cars limits and how to do it.
I have a few overslides every now and then, but it is rare.
Once you get a grip of the RX-7 you can deal some serious damage, but I think it is a bit overrated, if it was a 20B RX-7 well then I would believe it.
