A Lotus racecar is just about as far from rice as you can get.

That Lotus looks great! The scoop also suits it.
The scoop on the McLaren looks weird.

You just need to put Lotus, Mclaren, Corvette and Jaguar XJ220 in a title to get my eyes on your post.

This elise is so damn nice. I give a 10 to your post for the pics. lol
Another great car pics:

it's not bad. i'm not a fan of lotus. i only like the Esprit 350, that's it.
you can also drive the elise gt1 in Gran Turismo 2. you cna buy it for a high amount of creds in the special car area. handles like sh*t but has good speed.

That is not realistic cause the Elise and Exige are some of the best handling cars ever made. and are super fast for the power they got.
I don't know how much power a Elise GT1 got but the first Elise didn't even have over 100 bhp. and the last version got the engine from a last model Celica at 190 bhp.

Yeah, now it has around 220, and the exige is pretty much a stripped down version of the elise, and not like the elise is light enough.

well it handles great on straights and chicanes, but when you use the "slow in, fast out" technique and hit the gas exiting a corner, that back end whips right around. i guess it's too light??

I thought the lighter the car is, the better/faster it takes a corner. Which makes sence when you think about it

yeah, but you need the weight to keep it on the ground. do any of you remember what happened to that mercedes clk-lm back in teh 90s during the 24 hour lemans? it came up over a hill and it lifted right into the air cause it was so light.
the elise is MR so that means the power goes to the back wheels. and if you take a corner to fast, or punch it coming out of a corner.. it spins out or fishtails.. i never have that problem and Esprit or Europa.

The Esprit is MR too. The GT games were never that realistic to be honest. Its untrue to say that any M/R car will spin or fishtail- putting the weight toward the driving wheels actually prevents the car from loosing traction, and the weight of the PAS assembly, steering rack and front suspetion compensates to prevent the car spinning out. Your most likely to loose a corner driving an F/R car, because if you hit the gas whilst turning, the traction throws the back end in the direction you were turning faster than the front wheels can compensate.
However, there actually is no road version of the Elise GR1. It was never put into production, and this version here is actually an imitation constructed by someone. Pretty close to the real thing, but probably nowhere near as light or powerful.
You forgot the Exige 240R. Supercharged version of the 190bhp Celica engine,

No, the car flipped because it didn't have sufficient aerodynamics to keep it plastered onto the road. There's no such thing as a car that is too light.

Like Bogan said the CLK GTR did not have enough downforce to keep it down.
weight has very little to do with getting airborn.
cause a 747 would be hopeless with the weight it got. it is all about aerodinamics and downforce that keeps things on the ground or lifts them up.
