Mac, PC, or Linux?

Post by spartan.dk »

I chose Mac, they're the most practical out of the two I've used (windows and mac), and despite I'm the typical gamer, I'd rather have both so that ones for gaming, one's for the practicality of everything, and the fact that Macs don't have alot of viruses that can get through them, since no one makes viruses for macs... So what about you?

Macs = Overrated
Linux = Programmers OS
And by PC I'm guessing you mean Windows, which is an every-day people OS.

Hmm . . . I fail to see how one mouse button, and no upgradeability, is more practical.

Then why do Mac's come with the shiznit one-button thing? They're uncomfortable, ugly, and more expensive then a normal mouse!!
Apple is fluffyduck up.

I enjoy using the Apple for using Graphic desining (Photoshop, Animation, 3D Max) because it seems faster on them, and thats all I would use a Mac for.

A PC is for an everyday person who doesnt need the shiznit that Apple presents to a non-technical person. =D

It really isn't hard to stay virus-free on a Windows-based system ... All you need is common sense, a good internet security suite, a good anti-spyware program, and to keep everything up-to-date ...

I haven't had a virus in over 2 years ...

A normal PC with Windows XP will do fine for me.

It only needs to work properly :?

yeah i agree with you on the mouse thing, i was in the apple store checking out the iMac and i had to press the button like 2 or 3 times to select someting and if you want to cop something you dont copy it, you click and drag it to where you want it... but you can always put in a optical USB mouse if you dont like the orignal one which is recommended.

I'm trying really hard to make sense of that, and i'm stumped. Do you mean to say, "I use Windows and those of you that don't are demons," "Windows is the equivalent of demons," or "I do not use Windows and those of you that do are demons." :|

i have linux and windows on my laptop,

i want most wanted to work on both and not just xp lol
this way, if it works as it should id completley port to suse linux and give my licence sticker to some newbie who doesnt grasp linux yet, id like for everythin to work

i use skype (thats universally on all3 os's mac,win,lin)
gaim for messaging
propriatery ati 3d drivers configured the way i like
and open office 2 (supports the 2003 office files etc etc)
wine to run any win stuff (need to know how to get mw on it with it)
and its all free so i dont get bogged down with any restricting eula files
or viruses (cos the source gets modded so any virus that was, now doesnt work)

id also remove floppy drives on pc's thats good security
cant infect with a macro virus or some trojan u (e.g) might of got inside a crack etc etc.

lol but thats just me :-)

Linux isn't a "Programming OS". It's an everyday easier than Winblows OS. Don't try to argue with me because you only know how to use Winblows. I use Linux and Winblows and Linux can beat Winblows anyday. Many people on America's Army (thousands of players) use Linux and Mac only to play it. Sure Winblows may have a few advantages like running certain games, but Linux can counteract that with Cedega. Overall in the versatility run Linux can come out on top of Winblows.

Ok, I'm all for telling everyone your opinion and everything, but don't go around calling people stupid because they think differently than you. :?
