ok Situation:

I was coming up to a milestone on the cost to state challenge on the bit before challenging N.5.

And it stuck and the controller was vibrating madly.

Is this the game or my PS2?

It's also jumps a fair bit when the action hots up.

that happens to me too, its the ps2. you should dust it out and lay it verticly so it stands tall, so less crap will get into it.

Happened to me, but I found out it was the laser. I put in one of those dvd laser cleaning discs with the little brushes on it and now the game works fine.

It's frustrating for it to freeze. Today I was in the middle of a long pursuit and suddenly my PC froze.

My PS2 makes clickity-clack sounds after playing it for a prolongued amount of time (and it may freeze); anyone think I should blow by the nearest Gamestop for a DVD-cleaning disc or should i get a new laser?

Well I got my Laser cleaner today, used it twice. Will try out NFS:MW later on, report back with results.

Ok, played a 1 and a half hour stint without it crashing, lost a 1.3 Million bounty chase though.

Well thats good news...how much was the lens cleaner?

£9.99.

The game is still jumpy a bit, but I'm certain that's the game itself. Because no other game even hints of jumping on my PS2.

that was probably all i needed to do when my ps2 wasnt working properly. i spent $140 for a new laser when i probably only needed to pay $30 for a lense cleaner.

oh well...to late to complain about it now

Yep, or open it up and clean it gently with some alcohol. Purer the better.
