There is no such thing as a 7speed tran.
Although it is possible on commercial that you shift back because you hit those cones on the road. Then it does show 7 shifts at the end statistics.

Exactly what bobyx said. if you say over shift into the 3rd from the start, you'll then downshift into 2nd, and then keep on going until 6th. So in total u got 7. Happened to me a couple of times.

well i just finished racing two rx-7 with 8 gears! the thing is this one guy crashed like 3 times so thats probally why it registered as 8 but the bastard nearly beat me and i had one of my best times of 20.5 sec. stupid cheaters!

ragnar didnt u listen to pacodog me and bobyx? the shifting counts as when ever u shift so if downshift a couple times, then itll register as 8, if u do more itll register as nine, 10 maybe even 20... shifting doesnt mean squat bud.... plus 20.5 isnt fast so they cant be cheating... go to topic of fastest drag times and ull see.....

When you have a perfect start, so in the green zone when u start, it'll count as a perfect shift. so you have 6 shifts left and in statistics it'll say you shifted 7 times without shifting back.

You guys are misreading this - he means the guy he was racing
against (the one who crashed 3 times) seemed to have 8 gears...

I'd still like to find out how some of these ppl are running 17's and 18's....
my best is a shade over 20, and that's with 6 perfect shifts and redline in 6th.......
It's beginning to drive me nuts.....

yeah i started a whole new profile just to do up a drag weapon rx7 to get low 19's. I cant even get under 20 secs, 20.14 the best time on 14th vine. All i can say is, it must be because i am using keyboard, and they must be using steering wheel, with foot pedals being the gain here in being able to control the amount of throttle to stop the wheel spin at start...
any other ideas ppl....?

shift 1 is start rev
shift 2 is 1st to 2nd gear
shift 3 is 2nd to 3rd gear
shift 4 is 3rd to 4th gear
shift 5 is 4th to 5th gear
shift 6 is 5th to 6th gear
easy huh.... that is 6 GEARS and it stays 6 but if you shift back and up again it will be a extra gear... (when you crash and don't total you need to gain speed again and shift back... and later up again get it..
