AMD and ATI to Create Processing Powerhouse (bull...)

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo......................
Whatever happened to the green machine combo of AMD and nVidia!
I'm ruined, this ends my reign with the complete green machine....

Seems as though nVidia is without any support from a chipset be it AMD nor Intel (the Intel chips are heavily dependant on the Crossfire technology).

So i guess it will be like this:

(AMD+ATi)

&

(Intel+nVIDIA) ?

I love my (Intel+nVIDIA) combo anyways. :)

Only reason I bothered to post this was because it was the official statement, the news about the merge was/is a bit old I'll admit, but anyhow it's 100% certified now.

most probably. i mean, c'mon. it's not like they can make it so that AMD processors wont work if there's an nVidia graphics card in the system. the merger just means that ATI and AMD are now one company, that's all.

Aw, come on guys... its not that bad is it... what's wrong with ATI, they have been responsible for some really important innovations in the world of graphics cards (up until recently)

The fact you wont get any performance boost from using the two together like you used to?

there's no performance boost, but i've found an ATI+AMD combination to be more stable when overclocking. that's it. nothing else.

I doubt that could happen. It'd turn into an anti-trust like Microsoft putting IE into windows and MAKING you use it. I've been noticing a change of Intel + Nvidia for a while now. AMD + ATi has always seemed to make more sense for some reason. If anything I think this could be a good thing.

That somehow sounds like a load of bull to me. Since when does a graphics card influence a CPUs stability when overclocking? The motherboard is a major factor though.

Hope things aren't going to turn out bad.. I want AMD + nVidia, with nForce mobos.

i use a product by all three companies in my system. AMD CPU, nForce MoBo, ATI graphics.

the stability factor could be bull, or it could be influenced by other factors on the systems i've built, i dont know. i was just sharing my experience, that's all.

AMD isn't going to be bankrupted. If they are, Intel would've done the same in the past. The K7 series owned.

And if AMD went bankrupt, Intel would become a monopoly and be split up into several other companies.

Well, that's pretty much over with their new processors. Gotta say that their Conroe processors are quite amazing.

It's gonna take a while before AMD jumps back in.

Ive only ever used ATI + AMD but Im moving on to nVidia + AMD v. soon :)

But I would never (given the choice) touch intel. They feel evil. AMD has got cookies
