preformance problems
will it give good perormance on upcoming games such as nfs carbon and will it provide graphical settings such as motion blurr, crowds, light trails, etc in previous and upcoming nfs games such as underground 1, 2, most wanted and carbon and do u have any idea of its price and its other measures such as memory, direct x support???t3ice wrote:No problem...
If u are looking for a good graphic card..I suggest u go for
a Nvidia 6800 series gpx card...
they are pretty decent and not too expensive like the 7 series
either..
Good luck!!

Look, simply shoving a new video card into your poorly spec'ed computer would be a complete and utter waste, not only would it be held up by the rest of the computer but it'd be starved for power.
Save yourself some money up and pretty much get a new computer, motherboard, CPU, RAM, PSU, the works.
I'm guessing the only thing worth keeping might be the case, but who knows it probably only has a single exhaust fan (on the back, more than likely 80mm) and no other means of air coming into it.

TG is absolutely right...
Though my sis's pc had a 6800 GT..my old one...its agp..
On a 2.8 Ghz
with 512 MB ram
and 350 Watt PSU ( power supply unit )
some intel 845 motherboard..
And..it was able to run most wanted at all options turned on EXCEPT..
max FSAA( antialiasing ) and world detail on medium..
Every thing else was on and the game gave about 30 - 35 fps
All previous games will be a piece of cake..
ALSO..Carbon uses the same gpx engine as MW so ..if it
works great with MW.. it should work quite as well..if not
as good as on MW
A brand new on should cost around less than $150..
Try to search for one off newegg or ebay..

so on the basis on what the GT and t3ice said what should i opt for actually, my pc runs underground 2 very well but it dosent show graphical options such as motion blurr etc but at the available settings, even at a res of 1024x768, it gives playable fps, so depending on the performance of mostwanted which is very low what do ya'll think, should i spend on a ram upgrade or a graphic card upgrade. see the thing is that money plays an important role for me and i cant spend much, so this upgrade will be crucial for me but i also want decent performance on carbon because i am a hardcore fan of nfs and i dont want to end up when my computer gives an error to run the game because of my graphic card and perfromance and my budget is around 100 to 160$ and the card must have around 256 m.b of memory and latest open gl and directx support and can provide smooth performance in espacially nfs games with( if possible ), all ingame settings such as crowds, motion blurr etc and in india where i live ebay dosent work for the people so i will buy it from a local retalier so PLEASE HELP!!!!

Well u could try for a 6600 GT..it cost lesser than the 6800 GT ..It could prolly
support all features..but will be slower...
Also u could add RAM..512 MB or even 1 GB...along with the 6600 GT...
all under $ 160 for sure...unless the prices in India vary.
And 6600 GT and 6800 GT both have 256 MB and some models support agp..too
IF MW WORKS FINE SO SHOULD CARBON..imho...the both have the same
graphic wngine so dont worry about it.
BTW Im sorry about asking u for searching on ebay...The fact that u live in India..
didnt cross my mind right there...

I dunno... I have a Radeon 9600XT with 1.6GHz AthlonXP 2600. (Barton I think)
It runs MW 1024x768 high detail (not maxxed) 20-30FPS average. I turn off AA cause it slows the game down alot. For me, its fine... (Although I do wish of having 2.8GHz Athlon64 with 7800GTX, 2GB RAM, and all that )
But FEAR kills my comp. I run it at 640x480 low detail and it still like 10-20FPS... Its scary to think about. Damn super-graphics engine.

....If my PC ever did that ..argh..I dunno what id do to itStereo wrote: But FEAR kills my comp. I run it at 640x480 low detail and it still like 10-20FPS... Its scary to think about. Damn super-graphics engine.
..But it would be nasty..
If u think FEAR kills ur Pc...try GRAW ( ghost recon advanced warfighter )
Ull get 10-20fps even with a 6800....at low-medium detail...!!

Putting More memory in would be a good start. I would suggest you need atleast 1 gig, with todays games.
Also Harddrive speed can play a part in system performance you need at least a 7200 rpm drive, also check how much free space you have on your disk if it's running a little low that slows the system down no end.
As for graphics the ones that have been suggested so far are pretty good, I recently Upgraded My 5700 Ultra to a X850PE, and noticed an immediate performane boost.
The Processor you have is fine at the moment, but I think a Processor upgrade would be advised, AMD's prices are falling at the moment so keep an eye on them.
A good combination of parts I suppose would be and An Athlon 64, 1GB, Nvidia Mboard, and 7600GT (PCIE), you could probably use the harddrive you've got but I would highly reccomend Maxtor drives as their cheap quick and quiet.
Hope this helps.

well as the products available at my retalier i am thinking of buying the 'xfx geforce 5700Le (256 mb,14.4 gb memory bandwidth, Direct X9 and open gl 1.3 compatibility'
is it good, will it provide all grafix optins in nfs(u1,u2,mw etc) without jerking, will it do good in most wanted? (resoultion dosent matter)

And what about asus cards such as the ' power colour radeon 9600xt bravo' and its price?

Anyway I'm gonna go a lil' bit off topic.
I don't think buying a high tec GFX card worth it, coz first of all they're expensive, secondy every year a new generation is coming out which is more expensive than the prev. gen. and the everyone wants the new gen.....playing that for a few time...break-down
As for me I have been having an FX 5200 for a couple of years, and I haven't had any problems with it, yet. I can play all of the games...
Hope you got the point...
