NFSC Controls on Wii

Post by Skyline_man »

The technology section of Newsweek covered by N'Gai Croal posted an exclusive detailed preview about the controls of Need For Speed Carbon on the Wii.
The default driving scheme is similar to other Wii racing games in that it only uses the Wii remote for steering. "The Wii target market is more casual, so that's why this is the default control," said Larry LaPierre during our hands-on session a couple of weeks ago. "Non-gamers had no trouble picking it up. The longest it takes to get the hang of it is 30 minutes. But experienced gamers didn't like it as much. So we have alternatives."

Read the whole preview, and see another 3 screenshots of the controls here.

Thanks to PSZeTa for spotting this.

Not bad, but I'd still much preffer to have a normal controller as default. If I wanted to tilt something to steer, I'd buy a steering wheel.

Still, it's good to see Nintendo being creative. :)

Yeah, I'm definitely getting a Nintendo Wii, and some of the people-friendly features it has includes internet (Just in case you need to check a few cheats on google), weather, news, and it only takes up a small amount of space. That's not to mention the fact that many of the games you play on it will require real physical effort, so it will be healthier in the long run! :D

I'm glad that Nintendo has different ways to steer, and I'll probably try each way out and see which fits best.
