i have Nvidia GeForce FX 5200!
its not a good one but...
I had that card, but dropped on a new and cheap Radeon X800XT so snapped it up and it works a treat with this game. At first i was dissappointed as the graphics didn't look much and i just thought it was the game, as i'd only owned other NFS games on console. Then i noticed my resolution for the game was set to 800x600, so i curiously switched to 1024x1280 and can't believe the difference. No more jagged edges, i can actually see a city and the distant horizon, reflections are amazing and all with no lag, brilliant! Upgrade if you can mate.

The only cards I've had are an ATi Radeon 9200SE and an NVidia Geforce 6600GT 128MB AGP. Can't really compare them.

I have nVidia GeForce 7600GS and it does great job for me! However, on my other PC I have Radeon 9550 which is very reliable and good for older games.

How much did you pay for that? 200$? Cuz if you did pay 200$ you made a bad deal, HD3850 and HD3870 are both better than those 2 cards and they are at about the same price.

ON-Topic: I started with the GeForce 2 MX (very old PC bought in 2001) and it was quite good until end 2003. Then i upgraded to a GeForce FX5200 on the same PC and that was good also i still have it. Then i bought a new PC with an GeForce FX5700LE which was good for 1 year and then i made a big change i upgraded to ATi X700 which still works today and can play Crysis with Low-Medium quality at 1024x768 and i never had a problem with the card very reliable and performing very well for an old generation card the only downside being it only has shader 2.0. Now i have a GeForce 9600GT and i can honestly say that the driver support and performance on nVdidia cards has grown very much since the last time i had an nVidia card.
I have been with nVidia for a very long time and i can say that nVidia is better now, about the past i can say that ATi was better (starting only from the 9800 series up until the X1950XTX).

Wow, that's a good comparison for sure. I bought a 7900GTO for 250USD back then, but it's a frikkin bad deal because 250USD now gets me a solid 8800GT and some money left.

Oh wait, different generations. D:

This thing's still going?

Let me put it this way... I even have a Crossfire motherboard, and I would still NEVER use ATi... (Unless you're looking for integrated... their chipset's are pretty good... for eh, integrated.)

(Modded nVidia SLI drivers FTW!)

7600GT is brilliant. Oblivion high, FEAR high- max, Crysis with stuff on med, runs everything out ATM. However... by the end of the year, it'll be over 2 years old and new PC time... by then, this rig will be over 4 years old.

ATI are good... but I am happy with nvidia's features (pure video + TV = =-)) support by games and I don't have problems. They always seem to be 1 step ahead of ATI too.
