I get the exact error code, though on other games. And I happen to have the same sound card. That gets me thinking, it's the soundcard drivers at fault. Even though for some reason I always get nv4_disp.dll as the fault after debugging.ousi wrote:I have a really big problem!
I got NFSC setup, started a career and got a BSOD when trying to load the "first" (After the M3 v. C6R) race. I sometimes got a glimpse on the starting (the drifting), and got a BSOD instantly!
Error code: 0x0000007f (0x0000000d, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)
My Spec (I know this is very very outdated, but it runs great with NFSMW):
Intel Celeron 1.0G (256k cache)
512MB Kingston PC-133 (running at 100MHz)
SB PCI128
(The above are ~3 years old)
Maxtor harddrives (160GB + 40GB)
GeForce 6200A (AGP) <-- This is the "newest" thing in the PC
What is your PSU rating? Someone mentioned at some other forum that the PC might not be getting enough power too.
Well EA gave me the same answer that other sites have. And it doesn't work.
So anyway I got around the problem and can actually play the game now by finding my own solution.
Step 1: Install it on the computer of someone you know. In my case I installed it on my bro's computer.
Step 2: After install browese to the folder that the game is installed (C:\Games\Need for Speed Carbon) and right click the folder and select Send To -> Compressed (zipped) folder.
Step 3: Once it has finished grab a DVD RW and burn the zip file onto the disk.
Step 4: Remove NFSC from other computer and delete the zip file.
Step 5: Extract all files into the folder where you place all games. (extract to C:\Games)
Step 6: Create a shortcut to the game on the desktop and enjoy NFSC.

hey guys, i don't experience any glitches playing NFSC on my pc (P4 2.0, ATi radeon 9600) except for the videos doesn't play at all. certain videos like when cross starts to chase you in the beginning of the game (i think he says "guess who's back") didn't play at all. it jumps straight to the race escape from cross.
problem
Hi
I'm having a problem when I start the game. When I click on the game icon, the screen appears black and then the computer goes off. A blue screen appears and shows an error. What should I do??
All computer's configurations are ok. I have an ATI radeon x1300 1gb ddr2 1.8 dual core and directx and drivers are uptaded.
Thanks
ganso
