NFS Carbon Save Editor By Code Ripper

This App Rocks The House, A Must Have For Carbon

This is a True app that will unlock all cars to carlot with out an unlocker.

Just Patch the save game with all unlocks and you can choose any CAR in game now

This is a True SaveGame Checksum fixer + adding all cars to carlot, A one time patcher.

This small program allows you to:

- change the amount of money
- edit your alias and crew name
- modify the "heat" level on any of your cars in career mode
- unlock cars, perfomance, visual, aftermarket and autosculpt stuff
- repair your savefiles (fix checksum, change cd key)
- explore and modify internal data structures of the game
- also, there is a free savefile library, which you can use to create
your own save modification programs

The savefiles are usually located in My Documents\NFS Carbon folder of the
currently logged on user. As the game reads savefile into memory, there is
no need to restart the game after savefile modification, just reload your
profile within the game. But, keep in mind, that the game reads the cd key
from registry only on startup and then it will compare it with that one
read from savefile, so it's always better to sync your cd key in save with
the cd key from registry while the game is running and not vice versa.

!!! ATTENTION !!!
I tried my best to make this program as safe as possible, but I strongly
recommend you to backup your saves before making any changes. Besides, you
have to know that unlock features can't be undone after they were once
applied, so don't blame me that I didn't warn you.

You can refer to TechInfo.txt to find some technical details and feature
highlights.

The latest version can be found on my homepage:

Have fun!

=====================================================

[ Legend ]
[ + added feature ]
[ - bug fixed ]
[ * improved/changed feature ]
[ ! major improvement ]

v1.0
[+] First public version

v1.1
[*] Renamed the "unlock cars in car lot (not bonus cars)" -> "unlock stock cars"
[+] Added unlocks for bonus cars
[+] Added unlocks for custom cars

v1.2
[!] Updated the code for unlocks: the 3391526480 array that holds IDs is now
automatically repaired and ajusted, so potential bugs causing incomplete
unlocks are now avoided (I hope)
[+] Added unlocks for reward cards

v1.21
[*] Renamed "make all reward cards "open"" -> "unlock all reward cards" (because
it really instantly unlocks the corresponding bonuses, however the messages
about them are displayed only after at least one of the reward card conditions
is met, for example, "win a single career race")
[*] Updated technical detais

v1.25
[-] An error message was displayed when tried to edit the profile with incomplete
career start sequence (crew name was empty)
[-] "Save Changes" button was enabled when the profile was reloaded in Tools section
via the "Browse..." button but no changes were made

Thanks to CoDe RiPPeR for this releases

Dude, thanks a f**king lot! This helped me to make my BMW savegame's BMW's permanently unlocked and now users don't have to mess around with trainers to always unlock BMW. Thank you oh almighty GodSpeed!

Though now I have to publish version 1.3 instead of 1.2, which I had published yesterday. :x

you tell me. I would think as long as it's a valid change.

Let me know what you come up with.

only had the app for 5-10mins and posted it

I would like a bigger engine now

I would like a Bigger Turbo Now

I would like to do wheelies now

STAT-X hex me some parts ... :D
spectre01 wrote:nice work, Godspeed. one question thou. is it possible to use all the hidden vinyls?
I haven't played with the vinyls,

I have changed

profile name & team name. I did check all the check boxes and saved the file.

Started game and all cars where there in carlot. that's all I did.

Just logic on the following.

it's does say if you unlock all the cards so the little popups come up you have to complete one of the reward cards. I would try this on a new game. then complete a reward card. not sure what it does using a 100 completed game yet haven't tested it.

The vinyls should unlock after you complete a reward card.

If you have unlocked it already this app won't unlock it again. I wouldn't think.

I have waited for an app like this also guys. no more unlockers and trainers.

just 2 little editors now Hex and save editor :)

This program actually works pretty good. I like it.
I tried to export the JDLZ compressed parts, but I couldn't make any sense of it yet ... I'll have to look in to it later this week.

it works great and its the best program for NFSC so far

in the next version, can you unlock traffic cars (big truck, helicopter,...) and the "metal ball" car ?

Posted: 12 Dec 2006, 02:21
by Turbocharger
Metal Ball car im not sure about as i have tried this app.
The Police Helicopter, don't think so.
The trucks, yes

Posted: 12 Dec 2006, 02:23
by spectre01
to sergelac: those traffic cars are not "in" the savegame, you need to replace some car's code with those codes in order to use them, so there is not much godspeed can do about it.

to godspeed: what i mean "hidden" vinyls are those you can't select by the normal way. all the vinyls like bosses', crew members' and those "gang cars" ' vinyls are "hidden" vinyls. i think it will be possible after someone works out how tuning slot works.

maybe i'm wrong but isn't this supose to unlock the bonus cars such as the R8, new GT500, BMW, ect. cause in my save game it isn't unlocking those.

i did just start a brand new game if that has anything to do with it. it unlocked all the stock cars and everything else but the bonus ones dont show up in the shop.

the bonus cars are all unlocked for quick race
but they must be added manualy to the car shop

use hex editor and replace the "20" with "21" after the car code
then use this tool to fix the checksum

Well that would be other wise easy, but if we put Tsearch to overwrite 20, it overwrites all 20, so we might damage some cars then also. Better to do it manually, eh?

what do you mean by overwrites all 20 ?
in Tsearch, open hex editor, find the car code you want and replace only that 20

blah. that sucks. i was hoping i wasn't going to have to do that anymore. i've been using those unlocker trainers but they can cause one hell of a mess. and i could never figure out how to use T-Search. but guess thats my only option then.

this program does work great though for everything else. nice to have an unlocked non-messed up save file.

I was tinkering around with the compressed part of the savegame, exporting and hex-editing it. It turns out you can actually change alot in there and import it back into the savegame.
I already succesfully locked and unlocked single parts of the reward cards, changed some gameplay data and so on.

Also, Code Ripper already worked out alot of info, you can find it in the TechInfo.txt file.

So this is really one nice program.
