Just saw this car on Top Gear. Man this thing is amazing. 1001bhp at just 6000rpm. It features a quad turbo W16 and is the fastest production car in the world. It can flog the pants off a McLaren F1 without even reaching 4th gear. Anyone want to lend me 800 000+ pounds?

If you look at the SBS website, they state that they are playing 'brand new' episodes.

But yes, I believe this car/spaceship is worthy enough to have its own topic.

Mm, perhaps. But there are faster modified (and soon to be faster) standard cars for far less, cost-wise.

i heard the fuel economy was horrible. buuuuuut who cares its a sweet car

12 minutes at full speed is all you'll get before you run out of fuel. Then again, in 12 minutes at full speed, you'll have traveled about 70 miles.

damn thats REALLY bad. but what do you expect from a car like that where fuel economy was not paid attention to

Actually, this is the only car I think deserves its own thread. As Clarkson himself said, the Veyron is a true Concorde moment. The car is made at a HUGE financial loss, and was done as a ''technical exercise'', which roughly translated means 'because we can'.

As for there being faster cars...for once I actually doubt it. Yes there are cars which are faster in a straight line, cars that have a higher max speed, and cars that could outhandle it round a track. But I bet I could count on one hand how many cars could beat the veyron at all three. Once a car can run low 10s in the quarter, or go faster than 250mph, youre looking at purpose built cars, not all rounders.

All I have to say is....

The Bugati Veyron is one of the ugliest cars ever made.

Toshiro is spot on, everyone bums off the Veyron, when in actual fact at face value it is pretty fugly. Who cares if it goes into the 200's? It's not as if anyone is going to drive that fast anyway

We'd all be driving 60bhp vehicles if 200+ wouldn't be cool or whatever.

There's a shiznit of technology and years of development in that car, no current American vehicle even comes close.

The CCX, last I heard, had an unofficial top speed of ~255 M.P.H.
