i recently got some clouds brushes and downloaded some special fonts for PS but i dont know how to make them useble

when i click to open the file, it only opens PS and it doesn't do anything else

You have to put the brushes in the brushes folder under C:/Program Files/Adobe/Photoshop CS2/Presets/Brushes

And you install the fonts in Control Panel. Just go to Control Panel click Appearance and Themes and in the upper lefthand corner it should say install new fonts. Click it and browse to the location the fonts are held, select them, and click install or ok.

same thing with fonts too?

Extract fonts to WINDOWS/fonts, and then restart Photoshop, they should be there.

They won't work if you do that.

You have to install them through Windows Font Installer.

Go to Control Panel-Appearance and Themes-(upper left hand corner click)Install New Fonts

Actually, you can just drag and drop the file into the Fonts folder in the Control Panel and it will install it automatically. You don't have to restart Photoshop, either. Once the font is installed in the Control Panel, it will show up in the font drop-down menu in Photoshop.

Ok, go into the control panel. On the left side it should say "Switch to Classic View," click that. In that section, you should see a folder named "Fonts." If you do not see "Switch to Classic View," but instead see "Switch to Category View," then you are already where you should be and you just drag the fonts into the "Fonts" folder that is on the right with all the icons.

ok guys. i got the fonts in there but, getting the brushes in there is still puzzling me

Once you put the brushes in the folder, you need to load them into PS.

Yeah, you already said that, but you didn't tell him you had to load the brushes in Photoshop, which Prince took the liberty of doing.

I have never loaded brushes in PS before, all i ever did was put them in the folder and they were available to use.

Odd, every time I put in new brushes, I've had to load them in. It may just be a setting in Preferences.

i tried to put them in a file like that but it doesn't work, it only works if i put C:\Program Files....

Did you restart Photoshop once the brushes were in the brushes folder?

i dont think i even had PS running :/

so lemme get these instructions straight:
1. run/start PS
2. put the brushes in the folder C:\Program FilesAdobe\Photoshop CS2\Presets\Brushes
3. close PS and re-open it and the brushes should be a avalible

then load them with either the brush tool or pattern stamp tool

First off, where you put the brushes depends on where you have PhotoShop installed. By default, PhotoShop would be installed on the C: drive under 'Program Files\Adobe\PhotoShop', so that's where you want to go unless you installed it in a different directory.

What Jopuma has said has lead me to believe that you have Photoshop CS2, which may or may not be the case. Though you shouldn't worry about what version of Photoshop you have and if you don't see 'PhotoShop CS2', don't worry about it; just put the brushes in whichever PhotoShop folder is there.

So, you're going to put your brushes in:
#:\Program Files\Adobe\PhotoShop #\Presets\Brushes
'#' being the hard drive PhotoShop is installed on and whichever version of PhotoShop you have.

Now if PhotoShop isn't already open, open it now. Now select the brush tool and go to the drop down menu as Prince already explained. I'm not sure if restarting PhotoShop is necessary, but if your brushes don't show up after loading them, restart PhotoShop then check again to see if they're installed.

Start > Control Panel > Switch to Classic View > Fonts
