Inviting a friend online

I've been playing Carbon since it came out and had no problems. But my friend has just had it, and wanted to play with him online, and thats where the problem started. I wanted to create a server for just me and him to go in. But don't know how, and there is no option for inviting a friend into the same room as you. And it clearly states you can, anyone know what to do? Thanks.

it can only be done in unranked games
does NOT work in ranked games (wonder why EA did that..)

Maybe EA did it because you could have a friend come in with you and they would intentionally lose so you could increase your ranking.

Weedman is right. There is another option you have. When you and your friend/s get into the game room to search for races all of you put in the exact same settings and track and tier. This doesn't always work but 7 or 8 out of 10 times it does. And its also a good way to try and get an 8 player online ranked race for the online reward cards.
