They're supposed to be ''useful'' when looking at th aerodynamics of a car..

But most of their kits are ugly anyway.. So even if it's functional, I wouldn't put it on my car.

Theyre tested in wind-tunnels for aerodynamics and drag co-efficients. I used to love the style, but I think Corsas copying it has ruined it completely.

If the drag co-efficiants and aerodynamics of bodykits like that are really benificial, then why don't manufacturers fit them as standard?

The Toyota Supra, for example, was designed as a luxurious high-end sports cruiser. The engine was made so bomb-proof to keep it reliable. The cabin made spacious to be comfortable. The aerodynamics of the JZA-80 will be stable at 169mph (its top speed...unless the wing is removed). As a result, the average Supra owner wont drive it at that speed, so it doesnt make sense for Toyota to invest millions into it.

Toyota, inevitably, have to make a profit. Besides, the Veilside C1 kit was designed specifically to be stable at speeds in excess of 170mph. The C1 monicker is derived from the large Japanese highways, often used for stupid-speed races.

I absolutely love VeilSide kits. Especially their Fortune Series, like the V35 and RX7.
