Carbon - Video Card Question

Post by Rayquaza »

I've got a question.
My system is now running on a videocard, Geforce MX440 64 MB. In the system requirements, carbon allows 64 MB cards, but in the readme of carbon demo it exclused the MX440.

My question is; is there a way to let carbon run on this videocard? I'm very desperate. It's hard for me to just get a new videocard.

Thanks in advance.

I'm going to say probably not ... NFS:C makes heavy use of pixel shading and vertex shading, both of which are not supported by the GeForce4 MX ...

Even if you did manage to get it running, it would not be any fun seeing as that most likely will struggle with every setting on low.

It will not run. The MX series cards are not supported as specifically told in the readme files, since they lack the necessary shader capabilities.

The only option is to buy a new video card. Or you could just play on the console version.

Ugh, at least get something that won't be obsolete in 6 months like an X1300 or 6200 ...

i thought they were obsolete a couple months ago ? anyway if your looking for a budget card look at a 6600 or a 7300 nad make sure the 7300 is atleast a gt. but then again those run over 100 bucks. a 6600 would be a good choice or maybe a X1600
