Best drift car

Post by 221GTS »

In Need for Speed Carbon, my two favorite drifters are a 1969 Dodge Charger R/T and the Viper SRT10. I want to hear about some other cars that are made to drift. :?:

Mate, this section is about real cars, not about cars in NFS games.
Unless you are talking about real cars....

Cars made to drift? No car WAS made to drift...modified to drift yes, but not made specifically to drift. You'll find alot of Jap cars are used for drifting no to mention a whole range of RWD european/american cars.

The Falken Mustang in D1 gets some pretty cool slides happening, with lots of smoke, too.

Drifting is far more to do with the driver than the car. Once you have the basic real mods you need to enable a car to drift (suspention, cage, differential, brakes if you're not an idiot) it all comes down to personal choice.

My personal favourite? Falken's E36 M3-engine'd 3-Series Estate.

"Best" is subjective... but most "successful", there's a way to measure it... thats why I say the S15.

A drift car is only as successful as the driver.

For instance, someone like me would put the thing into a wall. Someone who's trained, (like my uncle,) can beat someone driving even an automatic...

He actually beat people in an automatic 240SX...
(And he's gonna teach me to drift my Evo/RX-7/200SX, whichever it is.) :P

I didn't think it was possible to drift in anything but a RWD or with an automatic... :-s

Not the FQ360 I drove it wasn't. Understeery on the limit, rather than oversteery.

Oooh, just forgot: the legendary CAPA Drift ute...

This is Australian drifting just so you know, but this thing has LOADS of horsepower. Haven't followed drifting much lately so I don't know if it's changed, but I think it was 800hp the last time I saw it.

I don't see the appeal for big BHP drift cars. Just means harder to control. Sideways, I'd rather take a nice 3.2L ITB'd I6 than a big, boosty high hp engine. Much smoother, much more progressive and much more natural feeling to drive.
