Far Cry 2

This game sux because Crytek has nothing to do with it. That's what made Far Cry be Far Cry. Cryengine is the best.
But let's get off of that and talk about other things. The fact that it's set in africa is dumb, because you basically have to walk on flatland and who likes that? You kill a base and you go off into the desert to find another one. Maybe some trees here and there. I don't like the concept at all.

Do you really think that the whole of Africa is flat?

It's based in the desert. Deserts are flat. What I mean is that it will be mostly flat with a few mountains here and there. The thing that made Crysis and FarCry good is that they were on mountainous islands that had a good excuse for a barrier. If Far Cry 2 is gonna have an invisible barrier in the middle of the desert, then that's dumb.

You really have no idea what Africa looks like. Deserts are not always flat, and they can be closely flanked by large dunes and mountains, with plenty of trees and other stuff.
I'm sure they have thought it through, and figured out that they can make it work.

He clearly has no clue of what a desert or Africa in general looks like.
(like Africa only has deserts, man there are more forests then in the US, and wildlife parks that are bigger then some countries.

I never said Africa only had deserts... I said that the game is based in the SAHARA DESERT.

See where you can find the word Sahara in your own quoted text.
If you can find it you get a cookie.
Just to make it abit more clear, qouted and the most important part again:

in my PC gamer gamer mag i saw more jungle than i saw desert. Which makes me believe that in the game you'll see more foilage than a desert atmosphere. If the game did have you running through miles of desert then they wouldnt use the cry engine because it would be a waste. There would hardly be any use of the engine's real time shadows other than a tree here and there, your own shadow, enemies, vehicles and thats it. There just wouldnt be any point.

They AREN'T using the CryEngine. Crytek has nothing to do with this game.

20-minute gameplay footage:

What's the point of arguing that it will take place in the desert? Watch the full video and you'll see there's barely any (only at the end a bit). After seeing this footage, I'm sold. This game captures the African atmosphere perfectly and it looks awesome to play. I'm just hoping it won't be another Crysis that most computers won't be able to handle the game.

Looks very cool.
@2furio: There will be a sequel to Crysis. You didn't learn anything from EA.
A game + a big number of sales= a sequel.
The graphics kinda remind me of CoD 4.
My 2 cents...

Well despite the fact that it's on consoles aswell, i really doubt it you will need a superior computer to run it ^^. I'm thinking a 7900 GT could run it on high.

When I meant by "another Crysis", I didn't mean a sequel. Crysis is synonymous to games which like 99% of the computers can't handle at max resolution and detail. And I know, they're making an expansion pack for Crysis as we speak.

But then again, how many computers get 60FPS in Crysis? 8800Ultras in Tri SLi couldn't so those computers they used for the demos must have packed a damn wallop.

No, as t3ice said, it means "World" in arabic.
