C&C Red Alert 3

Big fan of the Red Alert universe though I don't know what EA is doing. Kane's Wrath hasn't been released and they're working on Tiberium too. I guess they're milking the C&C franchise for all it's worth.

Summary:
* Boats are back! For the first time since Red Alert 2, Command & Conquer's got naval warfare again.
* Amphibious Boats! Someone's been playing Supreme Commander.
* Telsa Boats! The naval action keeps getting better. Electricity and water: two great tastes that taste great together!
* Tesla Troopers, Tesla Coils, & Double-Barrelled tanks are back! Well, duh, how likely was this?
* Naval Bases? Looks like more than just a shipyard in that last shot; I see a power plant as well at the very least. A taste of The Core Contingency, perhaps?

FOR MOTHER RUSSIA COMRADE!

Meh as long as the Apocalypse tank is back and as ownage as previous/ra2 level ownage, then I don't really care, if it turns out to be just a slightly different skinned Mammoth tank then EA can go screw themselves.

And to top this post off, omfg TG is back?

Isn't that what the Apocalypse Tanks is...just a redesigned Mammoth Tank? Not that I didn't love it but the resemble is uncanny.

Aaah, I'm glad you brought that up. Maybe this article could shed some light on that situation:

And so I've heard (after the Spore fiasco). If they are putting it, I am definitely not buying the game and if they put it on Undercover too, there goes two sales from me.

EA is putting DRM on Red Alert 3. So much for that.
Electronic Arts do not want to comment the issue at all, they have on the contrary made clear that they will also use Securom in their coming game Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3.

Good read, thanks. I hate EA... Like, I would slap a couple of their higher up employees if I could. egg their Mercedes, sugar their tanks, you know. That kind of stuff...

Just started playing the game today and I started the campaign with the Soviets first of course. The game is pretty decent and despite RA3 being more cartoony and "fun" than C&C3, it's still too serious. I mean, the actors themselves try to be so serious.

Overall, the game is satisfactory but nothing special. I actually still prefer C&C3 in terms of gameplay, graphics, and mood.

Downloaded the game and bought the game but didnt open incase I wanted to return it. Seems the moron devs didnt want to release a demo till a month later.

So Im inches away from returning this hijacked garbage.

To sum it up, its a pisspoor attempt at turning C&C gameplay into WC3 gameplay and stamping RA3 on it. PLUS securom is a whole nother problem in and of itself. LAN is almost impossible to get working. No true co-op like "promised" unless you want to play with strangers on EAs servers. Actors are strippers and old douchebags. Cant zoom out more than a inch off the battlefield floor. Japan doesnt fit the game. Ive had better naval battles in Total Annihalation. Graphics are identical to warcraft and in certain lighting, its hard to see your units. Also no real need for harvesters other then to give you steady income. You spend a million dollars hiring washed up actors, but you cant remember to add a refresh button in the game lobby?

PC gamer rated this a 92. Doom 3 (big deal at the time) got a 94. I call a red card here saying EA paid off PCG. There is no way PCgamers review can promote this game, skirt the issues (COMPLETE CHANGE IN GAME MECHANICS), and call it a must buy.

If I cant find a hack to make LAN work soon Im returning this game. And yes, I still want to drop a brick on the lead designers of the "New C&C Franchise."
