Yup. EA's marketing tactics never change, do they?

Step 1: Make a Game
Step 2: Buy the company that made the game
Step 3: Add a logo; sell

lol.

My first was NFS HP2. I think it was the ability to become the cop that got me hooked on that game and the NFS series. I was like 7 years old or something. But it wasnt the first game I ever played. The first game I ever played was F-Zero(racing game :D).

I... I actually don't remember quite well when lol. I remember that I played a lot of NFS in the cyber cafés and on my PS one (porsche unleashed (2000), hot pursuit (1998)) and that I once played HP2 (2002) at a friends house when the game was just few days out there. Then, like 1 or 2 years later I tried NFSU (a friend gave it to me when I bought my pc (clonic, I still have it but renewed of course, lol o_o)) but for then I still didn't know the NFS series stuff; they were racing games for me, that's all. Later I moved to spain (where I still live) and first downloaded NFSU2 (I bought it like half year after its launch but there weren't a lot of ppl playing online already =() and then started to investigate about NFSMW (which I bought the first day it came out and I think it's the best NFS that I played ever)... So yeah, I guess that I joined this group when I found out about NFSMW :D

Well that might have happened in America but it certainly didn't happen here...it didn't even have EA's logo anywhere in the game or on the cover.

Most of the ridiculous and unnecessary marketing schemes are adopted only in the US, and they work well.

That is because EA published it in the US and it was globally published by Infogrames under the name Test Drive V-rally.

And because EA published it in the US they could not use the Test Drive title because it was not owned by them so they had a few options leave the name and use only V-Rally or use your own brand (NFS)

Well obviously I got the "use only V-Rally" option. It didn't have Test Drive on it anywhere either.

technically what started me was NSF 4 (I think it was no. 4 I can't remember I was in grade 1) but it got stolen/lent/borrowed approx 5 years ago and I've never seen it since. I also own NFS SE but I can't get that to work on my PC anymore. So thesedays I play UG2, Carbon and PS.

NFS2 SE for me. Got every game in the series though. Still play NFS 7 Underground, 9 Most Wanted and 11 Pro Street. Would play 4 but it's just not the game it used to be to me, same for 3 really.

I've been playing Need For Speed since NFS: High Stakes and NFS: Porche Unleashed and all the while I've been watching the series decline.

It all began with Need for Speed 3. I first played it on my cousin's PS1 and owned it myself on my own PC.

I joined need for speed 2 years ago and my first nfs game was carbon and I thought nfs was about street racing but then when hot pursuit was announced and they said the bring nfs back to the roots and I did some research and learned what nfs was really about.
