Re: Do you think roaches are gross?
From Wikipedia:
"Cockroaches (or simply "roaches") are insects of the order Blattaria. This name derives from the Latin word for "cockroach", blatta.
There are about 4,000 species of cockroach of which 30 species are associated with human habitations and about four species are well known as pests.
Among the best-known pest species are the American cockroach, Periplaneta americana, which is about 30 millimetres (1.2 in) long, the German cockroach, Blattella germanica, about 15 millimetres (½ in) long, the Asian cockroach, Blattella asahinai, also about 15 millimetres (½ in) in length, and the Oriental cockroach, Blatta orientalis, about 25 millimetres (1 in). Tropical cockroaches are often much bigger, and extinct cockroach relatives such as the Carboniferous Archimylacris and the Permian Apthoroblattina were several times as large as these [several inches]."

It would SUCK to have to wipe that off your shoe, or let alone to hear yourself step on it.
I mean good God, it'd probably feel like as soon as you do, a huge mob of roaches are going to come own you.

Re: Do you think roaches are gross?
They don't scare me, nor I run away yelling "THERE'S A COCKROACH IN MY ROOM!". I usually pick them up and throw them outside, either to my neighbourhood's house or to the garden. No, I don't kill them.
I don't find that many btw lol. I don't even remember seeing one in ages round here... but that's what I did when I got one, and that's what I'll keep doing. They're not a problem, I can touch them and all that. Nice stuff.

Re: Do you think roaches are gross?
I just found one on the knob of the washing machine. I didn't realise it was there until I needed to open the washing machie to put the clothes into the dryer. It was 3AM, and it scared the sh*t outta me.
I killed it, of course, using a pesticide.

Re: Do you think roaches are gross?
@Andre - lol.
Just a few nights ago I went to get the mop. It was hanging upside-down so I grabbed it by the bottom part of the handle, right by where all the string thingies are. Right when I grabbed it, this HUGE cockroach (seriously one of the biggest I've ever seen in my life) rushed out of the strings (hiding in there 'cuz of the darkness and moisture I imagine) and started running up the handle to right where my hand was. Just threw the mop down immediately and started screaming really loud. I'm just really glad nobody else was there when that happened... lmbo.

Re: Do you think roaches are gross?
Dude, I swear... right after coming in this thread last night, found a cricket in a pile of clothes I had as I picked up a shirt. Scared the crap out of me 'cuz I thought it was a roach...
I just took the shirt, let it jump off into a cup and threw him (or her) outside.

The grossest insect I've encountered was a wolf spider (those things scare the shiznit outta me). I've never encountered a roach.

Seen wolf spiders here too, not quite as bad IMO. The only spiders I dislike are really venemous ones like the black widow and brown recluse. Not because they're gross, just dangerous. I see both of those spiders around here a lot.

Re: Do you think roaches are gross?
I found a black widow right on the ledge of our backdoor once... the odd thing was that it was showing it's bow-tie (meaning it was lying on it's back.) I was like, maybe 8, so I just told my dad and he went out there and killed it with the broom.

Yeah, they are gross. But I don't remember encountering one, even at my use-to-be-parents restaurant.

Re: Do you think roaches are gross?
I just found one in my bathroom. *vomits* (...not really.)
Still, motherbugger was in there with my toothbrush and all that stuff.
I saw it, jumped for a second, grabbed the broom sand swatted at the basket it ran under. Drug the basket across the floor, it then ran under the toilet. Swatted under the toilet, and it ran up the wall. Jumped again, and swatted at it so hard it jumped off the wall, then I stepped on it yelling sarcastically.
