Split Second
This is game is like Death Race meets Burnout. Blackrock Studio/Disney are developing the game.
Split Second Debut Trailer
If the gameplay is same as the trailer, then Burnout will have some competition.

O_O
PURE was awesome in execution so I trust this studio. Its amazing fresh competition can do for a market (mainly to keep EA on their toes).
Good article here as well.

Re: Split Second
The fact that it has Disney's name on it discourages me. After all, these are the same people that made the Jonas Brothers... remember?
Re: Split Second
Looks sweet. I don't get how u trigger the things tho...
Heck, the cars r supposed to be fake but I could definately see the orange car being based on the Camaro (this is good thing)

Re: Split Second
It looks great. We already have Wheelman and Fuel this year, so... Split/Second sounds like another good action racing game, I just hope it doesn't turn out like Undercover or something.
But yeah, Disney publishing it might not be very good. =\

Re: Split Second
Besides the disney publishing issue, I heard when people ran Pure their frame rates were stable and wasn't as crappy as Undercover.
Re: Split Second
PURE had the most intense visual representation of speed I ever saw.
Regardless of Disney getting into the gaming industry, the development studio knows what they are doing.

Funny how all 3 of there games have 4 letters - FUEL, DiRT and GRID. Anyway, this looks pretty cool.Nitrodemon McLaren wrote:It looks great. We already have Wheelman and Fuel this year, so... All 3 of whose games? Those three are all developed by Codemasters. Split/Second is developed by Black Rock, who did PURE, the ATV racing game.Dr Houbenheimer wrote:Funny how all 3 of there games have 4 letters - FUEL, DiRT and GRID. Anyway, this looks pretty cool.

sorry I wasn't really explicit about that I was referring to his comment on FUEL not Split Second or CodemastersKoenigsegg_Rox wrote:All 3 of whose games? Re: Split Second
since this thread doesn't seem to get restarted I just saw a E3 Gamespot interview with the producer on Split Second. They will have customization, Damage is a work in progress, and there's Split Screen multiplayer which seems rare these days.

Re: Split Second
What I like about this game is that the HUD isnt taking up part of the screen and blocking part of your view giving you a chance to see the desstruction you cause. By the way krazyammo, did the producers say how deep the customization level is?

Re: Split Second
from what I've seen and heard they haven't said how deep the customization is, but the producer did say they'll explain it later on in the year.

Re: Split Second
The only problem i see with this game which will probably bring it down is the fact that if it has online play, people will learn where each thing happens and how to avoid (falling control towers and such). Only thing that would'nt be avoidable are the powerplay bombs from the heli's. Unless the physics are really great and causes the big stuff to fall in different places, leaving the better players guessing where to go.

Re: Split Second
I could see that happening. I'm not sure if the physics will play into account, but I'll look into that if there is one is Split/Second.

Split/Second Stand Still Trailer
Still no new words on customization and damage models. I hope Black Rock Studios and Disney up their PR/marketing.
