DIRECTX INSTALLATION PROBLEM

HELP ME (please)

I own a copy of NFS MW and I was going to start playing it again. Unfortunately on start-up it came up with the UG1 window and then told me I had the wrong disk inserted. So I uninstalled Underground 1 and tried again. It still didn't work so I uninstalled thinking that a reinstallation would do the job.The process was going fine until just before it starting physically ''installing''. It came up with a info box telling me that I did not have the DIRECTX version neccessary - weird as I do have DIRECTX 9.0. I've tried rienstalling DIRECTX 9.0 - still didn't do anything. When using EAsy info straight from the disk it also told me my version of DIRECTX was compatible with the game - weirder still!

This hasn't happened with any other games - just a couple of weeks after I successfully installed my new copy of Call of Duty : World at War.

Please help, I'm going

If it is relivant, here are my PC's specs: Nvidia Geforce 8400GS
Megabyte M61PME-S2 motherboard
some crappy triple core CPU
2GB DDR2 RAM

To be fair, you actually have two separate issues.
1) Having Underground and Most Wanted installed at the same time
2) A DirectX error when trying to install

i also had that problem but it's not how the flash says you should do. instead copy of all of your files from the instalation disc to your hdd. then enter autorun folder and then open autorun.cfg with notepad. you will see the line DirectXVersion=9.0c. change 9.0c with 0 and save the file and then instal the game.

it really works
