This is just a topic to settle a debate going on at my skool - Whose the better band - AC/DC or Led Zepellin? so far at my skool its like 30 to 1 AC/DC's way. so what do you think? (btw AC/DC FTW!)

This is probably going to get moved to the "Can of Spam", but I think the answer you're looking for is Led Zepellin.

Well I've only heard....one song from Led Zep and while it's a good one, it's still AC/DC until I get some more.

Led Zeppelin any day. AC/DC never did ANYTHING special or new musically, whereas Zeppelin were extremely skilled and innovative musicians (ESPECIALLY Jimmy Page). They practically invented the whole hard rock sound we know today and invented the concept of album-oriented rock as well, creating an epic atmosphere on their albums which would be influential in metal. They also experimented with and blended so many different sounds and styles, including, but not limited to, blues, folk, psychedelia, reggae, heavy metal, and Middle Eastern music, and also experimented with instruments not typically found in rock music. AC/DC's music is nothing but three repetitive power chords played over and over again and simple pentatonic solos over pathetically simplistic bass and drum parts and weak vocals, and every song is about either banging chicks, rocking out or going to hell. Led Zeppelin's lyrics were often very deep and meaningful and focused on such topics as spiritualism and world peace, as well as fantasy and Norse mythology which would inspire many metal acts.

Not a huge fan of either, but I like AC-DC better.

I'd have to vote for AC/DC (because I've Got Big Balls ), but personally I prefer Motorhead - the loudest, dirtiest British heavy metal group of all time...
