World Release Date And Starter Pack Level Cap
World Release Date And Starter Pack Level Cap
The Need for Speed World release date has been officially set to July 20th. You can however start playing early if you get the Starter Pack, which will give you one week of exclusive pre-release gameplay. Additionally the level cap for free play is set to Level 10. Once you reach it, you'll still be able to play, but you won't progress further unless you purchase the aforementioned $20 worth add-on.
The Starter Pack will be available at several retailers in both North America and Europe, check the list on the official site. Euro and UK prices are €19,95 and £14.95 respectively.

Ehh.. Level 10 says nothing, since I don't know anything about the leveling system.

As much as I am in favor of this starting pack, Level 10 is kinda cheap...

Re: World Release Date And Starter Pack Level Cap
You have to buy the starter pack, which most fans forget is completely optional. Really, the only thing you actually have to do in order to play World is to just download it.

Agreed, for a normal game you would pay $60
... and now it $ 20 for a game you already played properly before buying it!
I think it's ideal: you will always get value for money
So brighten up people and look at it positively

considering most games would be around 45$ in my country, and that is new games, this one is half price..i may think this over.FnF wrote:Agreed, for a normal game you would pay $60

Re: World Release Date And Starter Pack Level Cap
Just so you guys know, the games full level cap is 50, so you're getting 1/5th of the content.
Re: World Release Date And Starter Pack Level Cap
likely less...Dr Houbenheimer wrote:Just so you guys know, the games full level cap is 50, so you're getting 1/5th of the content.
usually the exp curve goes up... and first 10 levels is about 1/100 of lvl 49 to lvl 50... *just a guess*

Confirms the fact that playing for free is not going to get you to the top. time to start saving money. saving money ftw!Dr Houbenheimer wrote:Just so you guys know, the games full level cap is 50, so you're getting 1/5th of the content.
Re: World Release Date And Starter Pack Level Cap
Confirms the fact that EA executive guys are a bunch of greedy bastards. Really, cap at level 10 of 50?
I'm not going to save money to buy this "Starter Pack", that's for sure. It is way overpriced IMO. Just so you guys now, with 20€ I can buy one brand new games for the PC. In fact I just spent 22€ (shipping cost included) ordering a PC game that was released 1 and a half month ago. World is not worth that much, especially when you heard all this time it would be "free-to-play".

Re: World Release Date And Starter Pack Level Cap
quite right, at first i considered buying it , because 20$ wouldn't be that bad. then i saw that for Europe, they were kind enough to charge 20€, which about completely says "do not".Hydro_PT wrote:Confirms the fact that EA executive guys are a bunch of greedy bastards. Now im sure that those cars they add, they will be only available for those who pre-order, so im not going to ever buy it, its not worth it without that exclusive vehicle, and i wont buy it now as i have more important stuff to buy, like...finally buying a GOOD mouse and keyboard, so i dont have to get frustrated by the fact that my mouse wheel works entirely randomly, you scroll up and it goes like: up down up down up down, and you end up even lower than you began with. same goes with scrolling down. just think about it when it happens just as you play some FPS game and need to zoom in with a sniper rifle.

From jsskppnn at ea forums:
Here's the cheaper option for EU players...
http://www.direct2drive.co.uk/9489/prod ... d-Download
That's £14.95 which is only 17,87 € (instead of 19,90 € so you save 2 Euros).

Re: World Release Date And Starter Pack Level Cap
Eh you got that wrong my friend. All of them are greedy, because all of them just want more and more money, but EA are just too greedy. Like Activision, for example.KammyworldRacerGT4 wrote:ALL Executive guys are greedy. Not just EA's.
They should learn from Rockstar or Valve.
Re: World Release Date And Starter Pack Level Cap
yeah, but your forgetting you already dished out $50 for most wanted and $50 for carbon, and you're telling me that i have to pay 20 more for what? have them repack it and put some more "jingles to it"FnF wrote:Agreed, for a normal game you would pay $60

this is not a new game, you guys are forgetting you already dished out from $75 to $100 (my case) for this game, so it would be what, $120? gimmie a break! the map was already made!!! so are the cars, and the scenery, all they could have done? modify the phisics engine, and add the action skills
that is all.
*edit!!!
and i forgot, that is for the starter pack alone, i bet some die hard NFS fans will wind up payng in exes of 200 maybe even 300 in between all 3 games....

Re: World Release Date And Starter Pack Level Cap
*facepalm*
@Jinix
You have to tell me something I already know? We know that World is MW and Carbon, it's just that the cities are combined. It's what a good majority of the fans wanted is some kind of online huge city. Too bad neither Bayview nor UG1's city made the map (which would have been awesome).

Re: World Release Date And Starter Pack Level Cap
Are those "exclusive cars" pre-order exclusives? or can you get them if you buy it after official release?
