Need for Speed Hot Pursuit will be shown on this year's Gamescom in Cologne, Germany. If you're in the area, you'll have a chance to play the game between Thursday, August 19th and Sunday, August 22nd. You can also catch EA's press conference live here on Tuesday, August 17th at 4pm CET (7am PST).
SHIFT2 is not on the lineup.

I saw EA's conference, and of course was looking forward to see something new about Hot Pursuit. 
It was cool to see some gameplay footage of the game, it looks very good, the damage is pretty impressive for a NFS, but fortunately it is not like Burnout, with those crazy stunts and explosions. All the cops after the player, the roadblocks, the helicopter deploying strings, the exotic machines, everything looked very nice. I just didn't like the nitro, I would prefer some kind of realistic boost like a turbo. I think nitro doesn't fit well on those exotic machines, but that's my opinion. Overall I really liked what was shown, and I can't wait to get my hands on that game.
Nice to see some new cars too, I love the Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione, I only drove it before on Test Drive Unlimited. Btw, I think I saw the new Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG on some parts of the video, racing alongside the player. Not sure though, as everything was happening quite fast. But it really looked like a Mercedes, however it could be the SLR McLaren too. I want to see that video again to check some details.
EDIT: Yes, it is indeed the SLS AMG! Just before the guy chooses the Porsche GT3 for the race, you can see the Mercedes there. It looks hot!
