Undercover Difficulty?

Recently tried to re-play Undercover, as i never actually finished it, and you know, i have to finish it.
Can someone tell me if my car is too slow or what?
I have to retry races 10 times before i finally get it right, and i mean a perfect 0 crash run, every corner perfectly taken and all.
Now i got my second pinkslip car, Audi TT RS, and i get put in races against SLR Mclarens and all that stuff.....
Is this supposed to be like that?
