Y'all thought we were plumb outta new comp ideas? LOL, not by a long shot f00z!! This one brings in two big changes...

First, the hook here is anonymity. That's right, you will not be identified throughout the entire comp, and votes will be hidden untli the end. You must conceal you identty - reveal it to anyone except an admin and you're outta there!! Of course, this means that your profile name must NOT be shown on the entry.

Second, another first - you can now submit a pic taken from ANYWHERE in the game. You can take it in the showroom, in game, or even a mixture of both made into a composite pic. Again - be sure not to identity yourself on the pic.

Along with these, there's quite a simple car design rule - no vinyls or decals AT ALL. Easy!!

How to make great pics of your car Guide

Step 1
Get fraps - http://www.fraps.com
Run the game.
Set the graphics settings to max and turn everything on, including motion blur (if available). Set the resultion to the max - don't worry about the low fps rate in game. You'll be taking pics remember?
And remove everything from the hud!

Step 2
Make your car. If your gfx is at least gf4 4200ti or radeon 8500, use chrome rims (row 1, col 3). That'll really improve the look of your car ingame.

Step 3
Go race. Select a track with lots of bright areas (inner city, market street). Drive to a bright section in the track.
When driving around 100km/h, start holding these keys at once: hand brake, left or right, back view, nitro (optional - makes your car stand out by blurring the environment). Hit the key for taking shots in fraps multiple times.
Do this lots of times.

Step 4
Review all pics (they are in the folder where you installed fraps - usually c:\fraps).
Select the best 2 or 3. Use one for the background, then paste just the cars from the other to to that pic. And don't use MS Paint. Try gimp - http://www.gimp.org
Rather then resizing the pic to 800x600, rather crop it. Also try brightening the pics up a bit if they're too dark.
Remember, make your car look good!

I can only add to this - in FRAPS, assign a key that's easily reachable to take screenshots. Like 'end' button or 'z' button. Would make it easier to catch that moment faster, without moving your fingers all over the keyboard.

Well, you can set the resolution to 800x600 and go try to make a single good looking screenshot.

I got Fraps so should not be a big problem, plenty of space left on HDD so

Well this isn't the worst idea I've heard for a comp. I guess this is gonna weed out alot of the simpletons(hopefully anyways). Seems the comps are getting more and more technical.

All I have to say is be careful or lotsa ppl are gonna shrug away!

na i think this is good becuase ppl are voting on your cars work not you!!. like ppl vote you down if they dont like you etc.
p.s. i hate ppl who do that

I think that's exactly the idea behind it....

most good car designers get high scores for their names... not that I am saying thats completely wrong... they did it with me to (and I did not mind )

but it should be more fair I guess... but you will always see GT's car... still is a PS2

yeh and see hoe bobyx's lancer won like most of the comps he's ever been in. (not saying that there bad) but you can see what ppl are trying to do

the good thing is... you won't recognize my car.... if I would enter one ofcourse....

you do use ingame don't you.... if you would compete in the challenge (what we don't know ofcourse)

the good thing is it must be a clean car... and clean/sleaper is my speciallity I'm doing something completely difirent in cars... If I'm going....

same for me, this time not a Celica from me.... although It did itch to use it.... I could hardly resist from using the Celica again.....
