I got a Z32, and let me tell you, it is amazing. Its a 1990 Red Slicktop NA (Will be TT in the future)

As you can tell, it needs some work. So far all I have done is replaced the clutch, put in a short shifter and replaced my spark plugs and sanded down my intake runners. The car already had a HKS exhaust and mushroom intake filter.

Some pics from when I replaced the gaskets:

Next to a Nismo Z33:

Wow, nice car! Too bad Nissan never made TT Z32s with the standard roof (or they never imported any into the States, anyway).

Just make sure you get any and all mechanical issues squared away first. I've heard that Z32s can spiral into giving loads of mechanical troubles rather quickly.

I fixed all of my little mechanical gremlins. Now its time for some modifications  Going to work on my suspension and after get that dialed in I will probably do a turbo swap. Then I'll have a turbo slicktop drift Z32

Nice you are getting there :)

The Z32 is a nice shape. always liked them.

Looks like you are doing it right, and with a nice Turbo swap it will be a very nice car to drive I'm sure.

Yea, turbo swap will probably be last though. I want to dial in my suspension set up and learn how to drift with the NA power before I move onto High HP turbo engine. I'll probably be running 400 hp at the crank when I do the turbo swap.

Half the time belt was shredded off. IDK how, im replacing and investigating this weekend. Good thing I caugh this or else my engine would have blown up

Anyways, I plan on doing a 2JZ swap in my car  instead of a VG30DETT

Well, my thinking is, i am going to be drifting with it, so i need an engine that is waay easier to work on, i mean i have to take off the radiator and a bunch of other stuff just to change the timing belt. So I want to put in an inline 6, they are much easier to work on. Now here in California, RB26's are illegal(on the streets, doesnt matter on the track), its at a the point where most police are very familiar with what they look like. But Toyotas I6's will pass smog and are legal in California.

But if you want to talk about sacrilege, im really going to put a 13B in my Z32 :P

Here she is now for some work this weekend

Why not go with an SR? Its alot cheaper and would give more room in the engine bay. Only downside I can think of is that it wouldnt make as much power.

Considered, but not enough power for a heavy car, especially for competitive drifting. Also it isnt legal in CA either. Heres what happens when you put a SR in a Z32 anyways: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=44DEsy19EH0

Got my new timing belt in, the timing was actually off by a couple gears previously, now i got them precisely timed. Car runs wayy smoother and even sounds louder. Its been shooting flames also :D

I've been thinking that if my MR2 ever blows, I will probably get a Z32 for a track car. I'd put in a 1JZ (because it's heaps cheaper than 2JZ) and the car already has a bulletproof driveline and good suspension design. The only thing letting it down is weight but I'm sure an angle grinder can take care of that. And it would be a great track weapon.

Good luck with the swap, I want to see this car burn some rubber!

This car is a pleasure to drive, just a pain to work on, I have been thinking about whether to do a 1JZ or 2JZ swap, still not completely sure yet, depends on my funding when I am ready for it.

Oh, and i beat some Vtec honda today... I was in 4th gear the whole time
