Mini Map uncentered

Hey guys,
Been doing some searching around and can't seem to find a single fix for this issue, basically, my mini map is all out of whack, as in, i says I am somewhere else when I am not, thus making the game considerably harder. however, the gps works fine, it leads me along the road correctly, but it isn't following any specific roads on the minimap. yes I have tried starting, es i have gone through the options to try and find something. anyone got any ideas?
