XboxController for PC

hello folks
i recently purchased need for speed 'most wanted' and am having issues with Xbox Controller sensitivity. it's very hard to control the cars, a small tap to the left or right and the car does a hard left or a hard right.
its impossible to control the cars.
does anyone have any tips to solve this problem, it seems like i am the only one having issues.
