finaly a widebody tut for people who don't know how 2 make a widebody
:D

I'll start with a peugeot 407
Image

first we r goin 2 use the polygonal lasso and then we selelct the parts I have selected.
Image
then layer via copy

now use the move tool to nudge the new layer horizontal
of the car like this
Image

now u have 2 smoothen up the front body panel
Image
and highlight it if you would like 2

now highlight the back of the widebody
Image

select were I have selcted the back body panel(see pic)
and now u can choose between colouring
or makin a huge vent , and because I'm too lazy to colour it
I'm goin to make it black
Image

now select the side were your huge vent ends(ok... maybe I'm the only 1 with a vent)pick a colour that matches the side and you can start brushin
Image
now before u deselect first add some noise

ok almost done
and now look at the picture and llook were I have selected the thing, now brush it with a matching colour ( a highlighting colour)like I did
Image

final result
Image

hope it works 4 u

Cool thanks for that lancer_freak.

I've always wanted to know how to do that.

BTW, someone should make this a sticky topic.

have to talk with bojan about it...

cause the art topic gets to big... loading time is getting to long... I can even notice it takes longer to load... and I got a 4mbit connection... :? so don't want to know how it is with a 56K...:?

so we need to split it up in difirent topic on a art catagory IMO

I think I will make a poll for it... and hope for lots of reactions... so we know if it's worth it!

(sorry for the double-post)
I wanna show another tutorial similar to this one. :) (I use Photoshop so I don't know about PSP)

SIDE VENTS

First, lets start with an Accord...
Image
Select the red lines shown on the next picture with the Polygonal lasso tool or any other lasso tool you prefer. (I use Polygonal)
Image
(Keep the selected lasso part selected) Now make a new layer and select that layer. Now use the airbrush tool which is in the normal brush section. (As shown in the next image)
Image
Select the black color on your color pallete. Use the airbrush tool on the right side of your selected side vent and I would say you should use a brush about 52-58 size. Don't use up the whole half though, just put the black where you want it, as shown.
Image
And now... You should be done with your side vents. :D

Nice tut Stereo, but there is a much easier way to do that.

All you need to do is make a black shape (for your vent) and use the smudge tool to make the edge blend in.

I'm sure that your way works fine, but this way is just easier.

Yeah, but my way is more... perfect? I mean if you use smudge, your results won't be that good but good enough... no offense

let's start off with this peugeot 406(ain't it a beauty)
Image

first thing 2 do is.. to create line like on the pic, but wait a few seconds and i'll teach you how i made that smooth line
Image

create a new layer
now take ur brush tool, and set it's brush tool at 2 pixels
click on ur pen tool and make a new work path( see pic )
u can see a little block were ur line starts
Image
now click on a new point , hold ur buttin pressed so u didn't release it, start pulling ur mouse a bit 2 the right so u have a curve that matches the cars line
Image
make a new anchor point so u have a new curve that follows the cars line
and keep goin on till u reached the end of ur bumper
like here
Image
now right click while still havin ur pen tool, and stroke it, click the dropdown thingy so u can change pencil into brush so u will have a line wich is 2 pixels thick
and then u shuld delete the path by right clickin and then "delete path"
this shuld be ur result
Image
now nudge the line usin the move tool and the arrowson ur keyboard, make sure u move it downwards
like here
Image

finally!, the hard but fun part, now we can start brushin
ok here we go
create a new layer
take ur pen tool(again) and make a path in the shape of that line conected 2 the normal bumper, make sure u zoomed in so u can make the shape better
like this
Image
now click on the eye of the layer with the orange line, yippie!! no annoyin orange line
and take ur pen tool right click on the path and click on make selection
feather radius on 0,3(damn this boring *yawn*)
Image

*sigh*now we finally get 2 the brushin part
u must have the new layer u just made
take the eyedropper tool and pick neutral colour from the car
so something between the lightest and the darkest colour
now take ur brush(finally) take a bigger size brush then just a 2 pixel(now I have 61 pixels)
and brush in the selection with that colour u chose( see pic )
Image
now get ur eyedropper tool and take a darker colour of the car
get ur brush with a smaller size preferbly and brush the shades were it's needed
Image
guess wut comes after shadin, yep highlighting alrighty
take a highlighting colour with the eyedropper
and brush were it's needed(u have 2 be very careful with brushin , u first have 2 look were the highlights must come)
Image
now u shuld contract the thing, see the pic and contract the thing by 2 PIXELS
Image
from that same drop down thingy u shuld now do this Select>Select Inverse and then Select>Feather>feather radius must be 2 pixels
take the dodge tool, or just press 'o' on ur keyboard
brush size for me was 47; Range:Highlights; Exposure: 86%.
now use the dodge tool on the lower part of the brushed area and a bit on the side
u shuld have something like this
Image
now u can deselect by pressing 'ctrl+d'on ur key board
now ctrl+click on the brushed layer
and create a new layer
ahem (day 2)
if i am right u shuld have a selection of the brushed parts, now Select>Select Inverse
now on the new layer take a brushwich ccan be taken from several spots on the car
see the picture, the red arrows will show you were i wll take my colours from
Image
now take the eyedropper tool and take a colour wich is neutral(it means the colour between the darkest and lightes colour) and start brushin underneath that brushed bumper extension thingy(see pic)
Image
now u will have 2 take a darker colour and start shading in the area's were it's needed
i even use black on the right side of the cars bumper, and don't worry about that ugly stuff
Image
now highlight(don't take a white colour unless u have a black car)
Image
now finally, the best tool ever made in photoshop is(wich i think is the) "THE SMUDGE TOOL"(plz don't ask why)
take the smudge tool and put ur size on 20 or higher;Strength at 45% and next to that check the 'Use All Layers' box
now start smudgin from the highlight to the neutral colour, from the neutral colour to the darker shades
u shuld have something like this
Image
now get your polygonal lasso, and nudge the outline bypressing the down arrow on ur keboard , check the pic so u can see were i kinda moved my selection to
Image
almost done
take ur eraser tool and erase every piece that is not needed for the bumper
deselect wenn you're finished
Image
u could say you're done, but you can make some changes if u want
this is my finished product, i added some more highlights
Image
got any questions, then u shuld pm me
