Well it's pretty easy to tell the lamers. If you see a Golf going over 120mph, you've got a liar on your hands...lemme give it a shot. ^^

Ok, here's mine. Stock Golf at Stadium downhill. I decided to use gravity to my advantge and just build up as much speed as I could before hitting the wall at the base of the hill.

It's going to be one of these: S2000, R34, Supra and the RSX.

haha well at first i thought it was in real life or something... highest speed achieved in real life with a stock car... but hey in the game, the skyline will win

Not so...I just did Olympic Square, stock GTI, 125mph coming around for lap 2. No traffic, perfect cornering. At first I though I would only get about 105-109, as the cornering was eating a lot of speed. Once I came up towards the end though, right as you hit Grand Station, all the way to the finish and through the s-bend into lap 2...just before I hit the left curve I was at 125mph.

That's why I offered to have anyone try it, as long as the cornering is flawless from Grand Station through to the left curve in my screenshot, it is possible.

Yea thats cool and all but the thing that sucks, is that i golf doing that speed would have choked a long time ago probably blew up the engine.
NFSU2 should have clock outs like some cars should clock out at a ceratin speed.

Well, I've done some testing and here are the results:

R34 - 6spd - top speed of 310 KP/H
Supra - 6spd - 280 KP/H
S2000 - 6spd - 280 KP/H
RSX - 6spd - it was very hard to max it out, I managed to get 260 and still had 2000 rpm left for me to redline, so I'm guessing it's in the 280~ range aswell.
RX7 - 5spd - 280 KP/H. The only 5spd car with such top speed.
350Z - 6spd - 275 KP/H
Celica - 6spd - 260 KP/H
Impreza - 5spd - 245 KP/H
Tiburon - 6spd - 245 KP/H
240SX - 5spd - 240 KP/H
MX5 - 5spd - 240 KP/H
Integra - 5spd - 235 KP/H
Lancer - 5spd - 230 KP/H

These are raw top speed results, chances are you won't reach them alot of times during a race

EDIT: Oh, and how could I forget.
Golf - 5spd - 225 KP/H

I was thinking, as a way to actually organize this thing, we should setup a bracket for each car. Then players can post screenshots and other such proof of the speed they obtain.
