WTF? There is nothing wrong with those. Is English your first language?
If it is, then maybe you should pay more attention in your english classes . . .
Edit: Oh I see them now. But who cares anyway? Especially the first one, it's very insignificant.

english is my third language... and i was expecting this indifferent reaction from the members of this forum. i guess nobody cares about spelling, grammar, and proper use of language any more.
insignificant or not, they are still misspellings in a released game. you would think ea games would at least have the mind to catch and correct these errors.

I see what you mean, but think about it. If you were busting your bumbum off to try and get the game finished on time, I'm sure that you would make a few careless mistakes as well. Anyone would.

wouldn't the beta testers catch it?

...dont see the error in the brake bias one..

the correct spelling is versus, not verses. verses are lines of poetry. this just goes to show that the ea games team has problems with word choice. this is clearly NOT a typo, but rather an issue with knowing the difference between versus and verses.
english isn't my first language, and even i know the difference.

oooo ok thx. wow. i would think EA would be more careful when typing in these tuning tips.

just so everyone knows, i'm not nitpicking at the game. my major gripe with this issue is that teenage kids are going to be playing this game and this simply sets an erroneous example for them. they'll be writing a paper and needing to spell versus. "was it with a u or an e? hmm.. oh yeah, it's with an e. they spelt it with an e in nfsu2."
it only goes downhill from there. every time a word is misspelt or misused, it reenforces the error.

Beta testers catch it? Well not everyone reads all the text, I mainly look at the pic, and quickly for something mentioning me, then close.
Well anyways, I wish I had been a beta tester, wouldn't be many bugs left, I am a bug magnet, bugs that they have tried to find for months, I find in 5 minutes

ANY GAME that happens, I get annoyed.

its a game, a 13 year old kid won't look at the mags, getting a magazine picture is just 1/2 way of getting a new turbo with the money you earn lol... i don't look at them and i am 18... taking a picture of my car is a hassle and annoying.. stuff it lol

i think there is a massive failure in the educational system if you are having trouble finding the misspelt words.
i'm not a teacher, just a 23 year-old former writer with a grammar / spelling / word choice pet peeve. those things just really stand out when reading through something... even a glance tells me "that is wrong" or "that doesn't look right"

I noticed those typos, but really, for children to be thinking of spelling and referring back to how it was spelt in Underground 2, then they have social problems. I don't see how, unless they played U2 practically all the time when they weren't at school, would relate to it for spelling terms. Sure it would play a slight effect, but I'd say games like GTA: San Andreas would have more impact on the way children speak and act then those typos in U2.
Not slaggin' you bud, just stating what I think.

i hear you.. it's sad that kids don't care. when i was (much) younger all of this mattered to me. i realized at an early age that dominating a language really gives you a greater advantage in the "big game." (aka society aka the real world)
because of this, i know that it can affect them and that's what worries me. it sets a bad example. since when did our standards drop to the point where misspelt words are acceptable in a published piece of work?

'kay 'kay 'kay!!!!
I GOT 2 CENTS TO ADD!!!! HEHEHE!!!!
Firstly. Kids go to school to learn how to spell correctly. They play games to forget about school.
Secondly. This is a racing game, so I'm more concerned about bugs that affect racing and tuning than ones that affect reading.
Thirdly. I'm 25 and a writer also, but believe me when I tell you, the writer's best friend isn't a dictionary its an EDITOR!!!!! HEHEHE!!!!
But at least you have a very good eye for spotting that "special" mistake... I kept looking at the chick on the cover!!!! hehehe!!!! Never once read the headlines!!!!

by anfrey
haha i kept looking the girl too. .. . but then was curious as to what the headlines said (i'm about to enter a photoshop contest making magazine covers, so i wanted some insight)... well, the error caught my eye right away.
and i absolutely hear you about the editor hehehehe good one
