Wow, first thought it said 859 MEGAbytes. When I looked twice and saw GIGA, my jaw dropped. 6.63 gbs a SECOND over 10,000 miles! I'd be downloadin' whole movies left and right!

download movies only goes as fast as the other end can transfer...

and even if it could.. it downloading movies becomes boring pretty soon believe me..

i think if peopel have acces to those types of internet connections, i think that the price of hard drives will have to go down, cause 40gb would be way too small to hold stuff on, youd be downloading things faster than burning DVDs

Actually Bogan, I was on vacation in Indonesia and I brought along my labtop along too... I've been on a 1.51 MBits connection in Singapore for about 2 years. But back then when I was on vacation a couple of months ago, I was on a 56K connection line. Let me tell you, it sukcs alot!!

And I doubt nowadays processors could work with that amount of data in 10minutes LOL. The same with HDs.

Months ago I had the standard ADSL (256/128) Now it has been upgraded to 512/128 for free, and it will be upgraded again for 0.00€ in March ... 1024/300 kbps.
The best thing is to get a better uploading connection.
That means I will download at 128kb/s and upload at 37.5kb/s

Why?
Because the communication companies are now rivalizating around here... and we users gain a lot with that

It's mostly pretty high...
Here with adsl the slowest package is 1024/256 for 35euro (25euro for students) with no limits at all.

In western europe it's similar but in some countries some isps are practicing traffic limits (especially belgium): get over 10GB a month and they slow you down to dialup. This trend is unfortunatly expanding and I hope it won't come here... ever.

yep, in Slovenia the prices are kinda expensive.
in Sweden you get 4MB/4MB for like $50
but i think there is a 30gb download limit ^_^

Here there were 3 DSL packs:

256/128: 39€/month = 50$
512/128: 75€/month = 100$
2048/300: 150€/month = 200$

The speed was duplicated in November keeping the prices.
The speed is going to be duplicated again in March keeping the prices.

Now this is a developed country!
1024/300 for 50$..

P.S. There are no download data/time limits any more.... (there were when DSL came out and people began to use it massively LOL)

that must be like a super charger and a turbo charger maybe 200 shot nos into a Lamborghini diablo and driv it full speed at boneville fast.

We have something called direct connect at my school. I get download speeds of about 1.5 mbps. Its great to go to a big state funded university.

thats what i call an N2O injection for an internet connection...
imagine the speed at which viruses/spyware could enter your computer
